New rider looking for suggestions on a bike.

Hey, so I have always rode bikes since I was younger, jumping, wheelies and what not. But I always had BMX bikes and now looking to up my game and get a mountain bike. I am a college student and would be also using the bike to ride to class, as well as some road riding for exercise. But the main use of the bike would be to ride on trails at Clarkson University and hopefully in the surrounding mountains. As well as some jumping. I am looking for something under $1000 Any suggestions or need of more details would be appreciated! thanks!!

Check out the search function. I think you'll find all you need 10 times over within the last two months.

Go and test ride a bunch of bikes in your price range and then buy what feels best.
