VPP vs single pivot

This is a follow up question to one I posted earlier. I am trying to decide between two bikes- the blurxc and the juliana (santa cruz) I know that the vpp is a much better pivot set up for climbing, but I was curious about maintenance. I am not a tech head- low maintenance kind of person and just don't want a bike that I can't deal with myself. Any opinions out there? Mind you I'm coming from an old school bike and as gear gets more advanced it feels like you need a PhD in engineering to mess with it.
Thanks

Maintenance of FS bikes has never presented a difficulty to me - as long as you have the proper tools (which are generally commonly available) it's no big deal.

I do however disagree with your apparently foregone conclusion that VPP climbs better than single pivot. It depends more significantly upon suspension geometry and shock tuning, and most significantly upon what feels best for the rider.

I am going on what endless bike mechanics have told me regarding the lag and I guess specifically with Santa Cruz single pivot vs their VPP. That said- I have only test ridden these around town- not full rides and the Juliana had better set up for me with 5' fork vs, the standard 4' fork that the blur had when I rode it. From what I have been told and looking at the "build your bike" site from SC the geometry is really not that different- minutely- between the 2 bikes. Any opinions from this perspective? I realize that you are not a woman (at least by your pic) so you probably haven't ridden the Juliana (a women specific bike), but I am open to yours or anyone's opinion before I throw down for one of these bikes. Thanks
