Ibex Maroc 29er
I just recieved an Ibex Maroc 29er to review.

The spec is outstanding for the price. I am a 270lb clyde and figure if I can't break it, it can't be broke. I will post pics as soon as I can. The initial "put-it-together" process was easy enough. Everything was adjusted right. I just had to dial in the shifting a bit. I am excited about getting this thing on the trails...(BTW, Ibex is under totally new ownership and the guy appears to be trying to do things right)

Pics as promised. The rear tire is a little close but other than that, is a great spec'd bike. I have not ridden it yet but will this weekend

The owner of Ibex is shipping a new 2.1 Nanoraptor to help with the rear clearance. I think it will be a non-issue then. I will report back with a first ride impression.

I was just going over in my head my impressions. I did a small ride just to get it dialled in to me. 9 miles ove SE singletrack. I had very minimal tire rub on the inside chainstay. The frame is stiff but muted (if you can understand that) It mutes trail vibration very well but appears to be super stiff. I detected no flex from the frame. I do know that at 265lbs, I have been able to make most frames flex somewhat but this one performed fine. I am still working on h-bar placement, saddle fore and aft, and minor tweaks. There are no instructions on the Rockshox website to set up a Reba RLT. I put 180lbs in the positive chamber and 175lbs in the negative. Still got a little wallowing which I will have to adjust out as I continue to ride. The brakes were awesome. Very little break in. I think that may have been because it was a demo bike and they were already bedded but they stopped my big azz really good. Ibex owner has asked WTB to send me a 2.1 Nanoraptor which should stop the chainstay rub. At my weight, I can make wheels flex a good amount but could not make this frame flex. I have to say, the spec worked out fairly well. I was not familiar with the 2x10 drivetrain but after a turns of adjustment, it performed as well as my XT 3x9 drivetrain on my Specialized. Did I say the frame was stiff? Well, it is. It is not perfect but it has performed very well so far. I will be extending the ride distance and severity over the coming weeks. Any weaknesses will show up and I will let you know. So far, so good though.

I have been reviewing an Ibex Maroc 29er. Keep in mind. this review is from my perspective only. The spec is great. This is the bike...https://www.ibexbikes.com/Gallery_MRC29.html. When I first got it, I noticed that the chainstays were extremely close to the 2.2 Wolverine. I rode it a short ride and it rubbed just a wee bit. I was then sent a Nanoraptor to put on the rear. I mounted it and it had plenty of room. This past weekend I rode it extensively both on a trail and at a construction area near me with lots of drops and ledges.. I was blown away with the fork (Reba RLT), the brakes (Elixir CR) and the 2X10 Sram drive-train. The frame is carbon fiber along with the seatpost (RaceFace) and the H-Bar (RaceFace) It rode great, climbed like a goat, and descending as good if not better than some much more expensive bikes I have ridden. The 29er mutes a lot of the trail chatter as does the CF frame. I jumped it through a series of 2-3 foot drops at the construction area and felt no flex at all. I ain't a lightweight either. I am between 260-270lbs depending on the day of the week. The WTB Laser Disc Lite wheels held up admirably with me on the rocky rooted up trail that I rode, along with no problems doing the drops and ledges at the construction area. Nary a wobble. I have to say, I am no fanboi of Ibex and was surprised that I was allowed to review one. I understand this is a very short time for a review but I will keep reporting back on it as I get more rides in. BTW, the Wolverine 2.2 is a great tire teamed with the Nanoraptor.
