Scott Scale 29 Elite quick setup question
My wonderful wife just bought me a new bike for my Birthday and I have a few questions about tire preasure and shock setup.
I am about 5'10 195lbs
Wheels are setup with Schwalbe Rocket Ron 29 x 2.25 running tubes. Where should I start with tire preasure.
It has a Rock Shox Recon Gold TK 29 Solo Air. Where should I start with air in the shock. My old bike has no adjustments so I don't know where to start with the air preasure and rebound adjustment.
Thanks for all your help
BJ

Tire pressure depends on many factors, but what I generally do is inflate front and rear to 35 psi, then bleed some air out of each tire during the ride until things feel right to me on that day and that trail. I don't bother measuring the 'end of ride' pressure because every ride and trail is just a little different. Beware if you bleed out too much air you'll risk pinch flatting. Also, with front suspension, you can usually get away with slightly less pressure in the front tire. Maybe 3-5 psi.

I tried this and it worked great. I think I got a little too much because I got a pinch flat about 1/2 from being done with my ride. Its all good though. At least I know where to start.
