Hi All

I am looking to upgrade the crank on my 2011 paragon. I have a Shimano M552 crank with 44-32-22t gearing and 175mm arm lengths. I am looking to upgrade to a xt deore crank with 24-32-42t tooth gearing and 170mm arms. Both are 10 speeds. How will the xt impact the bike...is the xt gearing better for climbing, worse, or no real difference. Cassette is 12-36. Also will the difference in crank arm length be very noticeable...I am 5'7-8 and do not have longest legs. I found killer deal on crank and have always liked the xt cranks. Anything else I should be concerned with in swapping them out? Any insight here would be greatly appreciated...thanks

It has a slightly higher low gear and a slightly lower high gear. So slightly tougher to climb steep stuff and more likely to hit yor max cadence on the fast sections. I find 170s less suited to steep climbs than 175s also. The effects will be fairly minimal, though.

Main concern would be BB compatibility
