Bash guard questions
I would like to replace my 42t chain ring with a gash guard. My crank is a triple 42-32-22. I am wondering what size bash guard do I need. Do I need one that is the same diameter as the ring I will be replacing, or will it need to be the diameter off my 32t chainring?

I believe just slightly larger than the largest ring that you still have(the 32 in your case) is the way to go. You'd probably want a 32t or 34t bash guard. If you go smaller than your 42t ring, you'll gain ground clearance for going over logs, etc.

This. Although I have a 32T chainring but went with a 34T bashguard so I could go with a 34T ring in the future without having to change the bash.
