Walmart WTF
I'm not buying a bike at Wally world, I was just looking to see what they had to say about their bikes. This was the description of a 26" huffy full suspension mtb for about $170.
"If youre serious about road biking, the Huffy Womens DS-7 Bike 26" in black is for you. With everything from a premium-padded, adjustable seat to a premium suspension frame, you can expect a comfortable ride. Even on rough surfaces, the road bike's suspension fork will allow plenty of stability. Youll shift easily through the 21 smooth action speeds when going through different road grades so you wont skip a beat on your ride. And youll get sure breaking when you need it with the front disc brake and rear allow linear pull break. All the comfort and safety of this womens bike comes with a nice finish, too, so your ride will look great for years to come. Adult assembly required. Ages 16 and up. "
Premium! Action speeds! Breaks!

There should be a special prison for sale people who describe bikes like that. Road bike with a premium suspension frame. Premium padded seat, I'm gagging!
Glad you were able to see past it, sad that they probably really believe what they are saying.

I hate WalMart - small business killers that sell cheap junk, and enslave their own workers. I remember them being 100% made in the USA, that is until Sam died and now they are consumer direct from China.

The "breaks" thing made me laugh. That said, terrible product description for advertisement purposes. In a world where sugar is "part of a complete breakfast," NSAIDs are recommended to "speed" healing, cold medication is sold with claims to shorten cold duration, and Apple convincing their customers that a 64-bit iPhone 5S architecture is presently useful with only 1GB of RAM...are we really surprised?

I am currently working on setting up some new items to be sold at Walmart in their system (not bike related). They are next to impossible to deal with...the amount of crap they need to know in order to setup a vendor/items is annoying.
That said, I'm pretty sure no one at walmart wrote that description, it was most likely the manufacturer/vendor of the bike and a person like me that sets the items up. Kind of embarrassing for all involved though.

Well guys, what do you want the add to say? I'll have a crack at it aye.
So never biked before and don't know the difference between a decent bike and one that's truly crap, this is the 26" bike is for you.
With mushy suspension and a solid steel frame that weighs a ton you'll get fit in no time.
21 gears, well we don't care about the spec level, hell, we didn't even bother to use the same brakes front and back, the components are what he had left over from other bikes we built, so it's mainly crap. Even the seat will give you a sore ass in about five miles.
We are in a hurry to get them out the door, so you'll have to finish building the bike yourself, we think all the parts are in the box.
Good luck.
Don't think the honest approach will get many sales with this bike.

Companies spend millions, the advertising world makes billions by wording things so that we will be misdirected from the real questions we should be asking. But I am sounding political now! Hey-everyone have a good weekend riding and post pictures. Its fall, has to be nice somewhere!

Dammit - I spent all my money on a road bike with NO suspension. It hardly ever breaks!
Shoulda gone to the hellmouth, er, um Walmart.

If you've ever listened to the customers when they're looking at these kind of bikes, it's easy to understand why they get away with this stuff. I heard one lady exclaim "A bike is a bike, I don't know why those bike shops charge so much for those bikes. We only need something to ride locally, why pay all that money". And her freind agreed. It made me sick.
So to summarize, you have an uneducated ad writer selling a product assembled by an untrained stock room clerk to a naive consumer. Talk about your formiula for disaster.

My question is, who are the seller's primary target for sale?? This thing is an FS but the description starts with 'if you're serious about road biking....'. They suppose to sell this to someone who is serious about riding but mix up the disciplines? Just stupid and wrong on many many levels.

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.
Reads like it was written by some BikeForums poster.

You guys all missed it. The reason that "road" appeared so frequently in that ad copy is that WalMart is attempting to avoid product liability claims resulting from the use of that bike off-road, where it would definitely fail. Catestrophically.
Lawyers were consulted in the development of that language. Fortunately for WalMart, most of its customers cannot, or will not, read the copy before making the purchase decision...

That's odd, I saw one of those once and it said "serious about hitting the trails" and then I remembered the video I saw on youtube about a guy who was using a WM MTB at a local trail and the thing fell apart
