Specialized Rockhopper comp 1999
Hi guys, i'm currently getting back into riding and i'm looking at a cheap bike to get me back on the trails. Looking at a 1999 Rockhopper Comp ( https://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/dow...e.php?id=34487 ) at around £150, the condition is great but i'm still unsure as to whether it's a good deal and if it was possible to get parts for it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Bike looks pretty good for £150, much better than a new one would at that price, does it fit would be the key question, if not, walk away.
For the bike it's self, the forks are the biggest issue, from Manitou's not so great period (they make great forks again now) they will either work, or not, and forget spares, as they just don't exist from that long ago, replacements will cost the same as the bike (£150-200). No disc mounts either, rim brakes are fine, but if riding with others, you will have longer stopping distances / not be able to stop as quick as others with discs.

Your buying used right?
The bike looks like its in excellent condition.
I think its a good deal but I think you can get something better.
I got a 2008 specialized rockhopper for 140. When buying used its not hard to find a good deal. Especially when it comes to bikes. If I wear you I would look around or wait a little longer till something better comes your way.
