Front Range Get Together/Weekend Tour?

Hi folks!

I was talking to a fellow bike tourist (valygrl) from here on bikeforums.net about maybe getting together for a weekend overnight bike trip. We thought it might be fun to see if anyone else from this forum would be interested in doing a short overnight trip somewhere near the Denver/Boulder area.

I was thinking of the weekend of June 9th and 10th and maybe we could ride from Boulder up towards Rocky Mountain Natl Park. Maybe we could camp at the Longs Peak Campground or reserve at a site inside the park? I'm totally open to suggestions for where to ride and camp though.

If you're interested, please post below and we'll try to finalize a plan.

Cheers,
Alan

Bikes: trek

I've been considering trying a few overnight trip this summer along a familiar route. so maybe I'll be willing to join as long as I can get a ride over to boulder and if I can afford the camp cost and whatnot. (currently car-free and once I get my van (from my step-uncle soon), I doubt I can afford the gas and maintainence necessary to go there till some time later). I got some camping stuffs that I could bring by and I'm currently keeping an eye out for any bike trailer that I can afford.

I do need to go out some more and actually meets people rather than just riding by my lonesome!

P.S. I won't be able to do anything for the next month cause it is getting somewhat busy in my life and I'm seeing some potential semi-big change (nothing bad though ) looming on the horizon (though it shouldn't keep me from biking in general)

:EDIT: just saw the dates I'm not gonna be able to do that ride, sorry.

Maybe everyone was away from their computers for the holiday weekend and the responses will start rolling in today.

I started to respond about meeting you somewhere (I live in Fort Collins), but I just remembered that I have to work 2-12 hour days that weekend. Bummer :-(

Well, I'm sorry to see there wasn't much interest in this get-together/weekend tour. But maybe it's for the best. I've got so much to do in the next 2 weeks before I leave town. I should really spend next weekend taking care of last minute tasks instead of spending a night in the mountains. Guess you all will have to plan another weekend without me.

Sorry I would love to but with how busy my weekends have been I need to relax. Going to do one or two chores and spoil my kid. Probably only ride a few miles or a short training ride.

Sounds like alot of fun. Unfortunately my weekends are pretty swamped for the foreseable future (well until mid-August at least).

Just reviving this thread, to see if anyone is interested in a tour around colorado, either a short one ending before 6/22, or something of 2-4 weeks, starting after the first of July. My schedule is flexible, and I want to ride.

I may be able to go later - mid July. We are hosting my Brother-in-Law for his wedding in early July, along with a lot of family. Have to prepare for this...
