RV Park Along Katy Trail
Hi:
My wife and I will be using our 23'Four Winds this summer to continue our recreational bicycling rides in the US. We are trying to cover all of the states as we age and we haven't a long time to keep at it. We are 67 and 65 in age. But I digress.
On our way to Yellowstone for a mid-June stay at Fishing Bridge, we want to bike in Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas. The Katy Trail is on our way from Florida and we have longed wanted to ride about 50 miles of it.
Can anyone help with recommending an RV park along the Katy Trail that would include beautiful scenery, water and electricity as a minimum at the RV site located in a town that is interesting and worth a day's visit. I know that this is a lot to ask but we do hope that you can help.
Any recommendations for places to stay in Kansas, Iowa, and Iowa would also be appreciated.
Regards and thanks. Have a great day in any case.
Bob

i'd say jeff city / columbia area (there is an 8 mile katy spur to columbia)
looks like a number of rv campgrounds in columbia
for jeff city
https://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions...rson_City.html
if i had to ride just one segment it would be from rocheport tunnel towards columbia
the high bluffs in that area are beautiful
only riding i'd do in yellowstone is fishing bridge to west thumb decent shoulder on that section
jackson hole has a number of bike paths
riding in grand teton is great

I am in Omaha - know NE somewhat - what is your tentative route in NE? Lots of rides close to I 80 with
many options for RV parking. I 29 N from KC would give you access to nice roads for mtn or road bike
on way towards Omaha or even if you would go straight from NE City I 29 exit 10 on Hwy 2 to Lincoln
for a West route through NE. The Wabash would also be close in SW Iowa Chuck

Catfish (maybe Katfish) Katy's is just outside of Columbia. Its on the Missouri river. Not very scenic itself but its steps from the Katy and b/w Columbia and Rocheport which as mentioned above is one of the prettiest stretches of the Katy. Some historic sites along the Katy/Missouri river are within biking distance of the RV park as well.

I'd like to hear route suggestions along i80 . I've never bicycled in NE (I've got about 15 states left to ride)
I will be driving back to CO(denver) from WI after Shuttleguy's tri state and then the Northwoods rides My route will be I80 to I76

Rides uncertain but like the 4 corner area.
