Well I wasn't sure if I wanted the 520 (tourer) or the XO1 (cyclo-cross) but I knew I didn't want a racer. Maybe I will get a fast bike after I lose the next 90 pounds.

DAMN! The advanced registration ended today at noon! Now I have to pay 140 bucks the day of the event. That really, really, REALLY blows!

I dunno. maybe 66, maybe 100. I can't do 100, so some really unlucky dudes are gonna have to carry me out if I attempt it.

I'm doing 65 cuz I'm only on this ride for beer, ice cream and pie. To hell with artificial, random, distance milestones!

I like to call it the Sha-WING! '88 World Sport. It's officially vintage, being 20 years old, and complete junker! :thumb: Henri took a lap on it and found a lot of things wrong. Meanwhile I borrowed his ride and was blasting off like a rocket. It's a totally sweet ride.

My other is a folding bike.

I can take ya - bring an extra wheel to stick up yer ass to help me out ;)

Well - the good news is that Matty is now going!!!

Bad news - my knee and wrist has been really flaring up all day. I'm never the one to suggest being responsible but I think if I went I'd do some damage to my body that would mean significant time off the bike which would make me more sad than missing it :( So have fun all - and save me some of the meat jerky, saw some cool variations!

Great ride! I'm now stuck in traffic on Montauk Highway, but at least there's air conditioning.

So a bit OT but I'm having pre-birthday drinks this Wednesday (the 25th) at Tom and Jerry's (though no name on the bar itself) at the northeast corner of Houston and Elizabeth (one block west of Bowery). Divey bar, could probably sneak a few bikes inside (it's pretty big and there's a little defunct kitchen in the back that I've put mine before). Cash only but good pours. Can bring food in or order in.

I'll get there around 9:30 and will be staying pretty late - PM me for my number if you don't have it already if you're coming past 1 or 2 :) Look for us towards the back.
