Crap - just noticed the weather will be downright nasty tonight starting at 7. Anyone care about riding in severe thunderstorms?

If I'm in street clothes on the folder I've just picked up from B-fold, with a laptop in my backpack, I don't want to ride in thunderstorms.

If the folder isn't ready today and I can go home, change into rain gear, and get my road bike, I'm probably in.

BTW I have schwalbe marathons on the brompton and caught a flat somewhere on the manhattan bridge once. Supposedly it was an anomaly as most users claim they've never had a problem. After that (sometime early this spring) I've rolled over carpets of broken glass and debris and haven't caught another, knock on wood.

How are they to get on and off? The tires on my downtube are impossible.

Ooo, I just checked weather.com and it looks bad for this evening--rain all but certain. So bad, in fact, that I may either leave my bike in the office or take it home on the subway.

Pshaw, moi? Get my hands dirty? I let the mechanic handle that! I keed I keed of course. I wasn't sure about taking the wheel off (somewhat complicated for the rear on brommies) so I had Dave Lam do it. Otherwise I hear it's somewhat of a pain to take the tire off the rim, probably a recurring theme for small wheels.
