GW Bridge a mess. How long?
First outing over the GW bridge and up 9W on Sunday. Hated the Bridge mess. Walking those steps in cleats just aint' worth it.
On another note. What is the grade of the last big hill going up to the police station on the Park Drive?
I was on my fixed gear bike, and was afraid to take it. Had no problems with the 9W hills, but I remember doing the Park Drive hill on my road bike, with a double, and wanted more gears. But, now that I'm thinking back, maybe I should have given it a try. What do you think? I was on 48/18 I think? Would I have made it up?

https://www.njpalisades.org/:
Due to mudslides resulting from last week's storm event: Henry Hudson Drive ("River Drive") is closed from the circle at the entrance to Ross Dock in Fort Lee north to the entrance to the Englewood Boat Basin & Picnic Area in Englewood Cliffs * and * from the intersection with Dyckman Hill Road (Palisade Avenue) north to the circle at the intersection of Alpine Approach Road in Alpine. The roadway in these sections is at present impassable and is CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC, including bicycles.
Repairs are anticipated to take up to a week or longer (this notice posted April 17, 2007—notice will be placed here on our Home page when the roadway has been reopened to traffic.)
It is anticipated that access to the Ross Dock Picnic Area, the Englewood Boat Basin & Picnic Area, and the Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area should remain OPEN during this time—Ross Dock from the southern park entrance at the Edgewater–Fort Lee border; the Englewood Area from the Palisade Avenue entrance in Englewood Cliffs (PIP Exit 1); and the Alpine Area from Alpine Approach Road in Alpine (PIP Exit 2 / U.S. Route 9W north of Closter Dock Road).

Anyone been through the Palisades recently? Have they started cleaning up the mudslide?

Not sure what the actual progress is though... but...
Actually it's the https://www.njpalisades.org/ site saying:
Repairs on the southern slide are anticipated to be completed next week. The larger slide in the northern portion of the Drive (see photos, above) may not be cleared until mid-May (this notice revised May 5, 2007—notice will be placed here when the roadway has been reopened to traffic.)

Apparently there's more than one mudslide. I was there a couple of weeks ago and the road was rideable past the Englewood Cliffs Picnic Area. They seem to have partially cleared the area and left a couple of orange barriers partially blocking the road but that didn't seem to dissuade cyclists.
Now if we could pnly get something done about those stairs!

On Saturday I rode a bit - not sure where the main landslide was but noticed there were quite a few others that were cleared.
