Is anyone doing this ride this year? It was a great time last year. Starting near Grants tomb, heading over the GWB into dirty Jersey. Up to Rockland County into Haverstraw and back through Jersey to the Tomb. It was nice and cold last year in the A.M. and warmed up nicely by early P.M. Good Century ride lots of hills and good people last year!

The one time I tried to do this ride, hurricane Ivan came roaring through. It wasn't raining when I left Grant's tomb, but it was pouring by the time I was on the viaduct over 125th St. That's all of 3 blocks away. By the time I got up to 165th St I had enough and ducked under an awning on Bway/168th. Then the lightning started. One bolt appeared to touch down at 122nd/Riverside, at the starting point. That's when they called the ride off.

I got on the A train and sat down and the water squished out of my soaked shorts. Gross.

I'd love to do this, depends on if the Red Sox make it to the postseason (have tix) and if I can get my wheel fixed by then (less likely unfortunately).

I'm doing the ride. The usually-wrong extended forecast looks good (only a slight chance of showers in the AM). Morning in the low 50s, going up to low 60s in the afternoon. Shorts and a light jacket should be perfect...

100 mile ride starts at 7:30, according to the NYCC boards (they forgot to put the start time on the site), and you're supposed to arrive around 30 mins before to sign in (and eat).

See you there!
