The photo was staged. The lid of their toolbox under the trailer is the give away. They previously had three bike racks, but removed the middle one to make room for a large plastic tub for the tools and stuff.
I said, "Are you going to haul some bikes on that? If so I want to take pictures!" "No, but we can put some bikes on there." "No, that's OK..." "It's no problem!" http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/DSC06896.jpg "OK, since you've gone this far, why not get on and pretend to be riding somewhere?" :D |
I often shoot too soon and point the camera ahead of the rider. That's frustrating. Sometimes there is a garbage truck or a Porche in better focus than the subject. :(
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/DSC06977.jpg Sometimes nothing is quite in focus and the subject is almost out of the frame. http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/DSC06979.jpg |

If you ask me if I'm the guy from bikeforums, you get your picture in this thread even if your cab is empty.

Haha, I bet he doesn't know you're telebianchi.

A lot of vintage bikes out there these days! :thumb:
This is the actual bike that Angela Landsbury is seen riding at the beginning of each episode of "Murder She Wrote"! http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/DSC06992.jpg This 1965 Schwinn Typhoon was rescued from a dumpster. That's pretty cool. |
I can't verify every rumor I start, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. :p
Haha, gotcha! |

http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r.../DSC070201.jpg I'm sure there would be bikes in this painting, but it appears the artist started at the top and ran out of canvas before he got to the street! http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r..._/DSC07026.jpg Some guy with a camera and a trailer. http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/DSC07030.jpg |

The funny thing about that picture of the beleaguered climber is that anyone who knows me from the street would think that guy was me at first glance, because of the white helmet and faded blue polo shirt. I sport black crew socks sometimes too. :o |
Yeah, well at least the guy rides a bike and that alone makes a LOT of acceptance in my tent.
I only wish I had pictures or a way to contact this guy who must have lived in this little town of Woodleaf, NC. I'd see him riding all this cobbled together hardware as I rode my Bianchi Veloce around Central NC. We'd pass in opposite directions or at intersections and he'd be riding these, and the only word for them, cyclic contraptions. A tandem he converted to a hauler. Absolutely the first "chopper" bike I ever saw. I think they were mainly single speed bikes and very heavy on rolling Piedmont roads. Hillbilly looking guy. Well one day we met at an intersection and he turned in my direction. He was in front of me and I gave chase to speak to him. Looked like he was on some department store mountain bike and at first maybe 30 or 40 meters separated us. To make a long story short, this guy buried me. I kept losing ground and kept trying to keep up and he never even looked back! |

Whatever this poor beauty deserves at least down tube shifter Campy. What the Eff is wrong with that saddle? Did the borg have something to do with it? And like "The Dog of Flanders" it's working below it's class... |
Wow this page took a long time to load! Some nice images there. This one's my favorite. Haha! :p

" Walking K Street "
What a wonderful series of shot. You have some very strong images here. For some reason you seem to really capture the females riders very well. Really like this and keep it up. |

Whoah!
It's like brain freeze from pictures! Very nice, qsmdc15. What a barrage! |
Brain freeze? How about computer freeze? The browser on my new Mac froze up the first time I checked the thread after Bikefor posted, but now I can open that page in seconds flat. It's like the computer remembers. That's a nice feature. I'm always impressed when my computer appears to be using it's huge memory.
He says "mostly unedited" so there you have it. 100 photos all shot before I rolled out of the house. The pictures I always wanted to go in early and get but never did. Thanks Bikefor for covering the early shift. :) |
It was a beautiful senset this evening. The contrast between the pale turquoise-ish blue and the strong orange-ie (?), red clouds was striking. I pulled over and enjoyed the view until well after twilight.

Dang, I forgot to add, I am really digging the Electra.:thumb:

Kim's not a messenger anymore. I have no pictures of her on the street, she was always too fast. She works for Capitol Bikeshare now. A family of four tried to return their bikes to a station that had only three docks available.

That's gotta hurt. Unless he tapes up his finger first. Maybe the middle finger would be better than the index for that. Certainly in keeping with the minimalist fixie ethos.
More Pittsburgh to DC tourers. The Allegheny Passage rail trail / C&O Canal towpath is a popular tour! I'd like to ride it someday. http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/DSC07182.jpg These guys had a great time and highly recommend the ride! :thumb: |
