nyc bicycle attorney

Hey all.
In short, I was involved in an accident on my bicycle just this past Monday. I was not seriously hurt, just some minor scratches and sprained elbow. I filed a police report and the paramedics put me on an ambulance to the ER.

Now what I want to know is if anyone knows and could recommend a good attorney who is experienced in bike accidents working in the nyc region.

Also, do I even need a lawyer? Because the chances of going to court is very unlikely since I haven't broken anything and my bike is fine. All I want is someone to pay my ambulance and ER bills. Is the car's insurance company automatically liable to pay this fee or do I need a lawyer to fight for this money?

It's probably covered under New York's No-Fault insurance law which covers medical expenses up to $50,000.

Was that you on the Cross Island exit ramp on Northern? Me and my riding partner saw the police and the FDNY paramedics working on a cyclist when we were riding there on Monday. Glad to hear you are OK.

More often than not I see motorists coming off the Cross Island blatantly ignoring the stop sign at the crosswalks. I've already called 311 so many times to get them to maybe install signal lights there or something.

Sakkas and cahn. They have ads on this site. I actually know Matt sakkas from nysc 86 and lex. He was an avid spinner and a nice guy unlike many of the other "spin Nazis"

Similar accident last Spring...Ambulance ride to the ER. MRI. Concussion. Driver's auto insurance covered everything. My opinion: no need for a lawyer

Hey, would you mind sending me your referral too? I was also in an accident in NYC last week - two days in the hospital and bike damage. They did tell me about the no fault law but since I was unconscious/don't remember when the police took statements, the driver said that I ran a light and hit him.

I was hit by a cab in Philly several years ago. No physical injuries and no trip to the hosptial, but there was bike damage. I worked it out with the cab's insurance company without hiring a lawyer. Disclaimer: I am a lawyer. Nonetheless, I think minor incidents like these can be handled peaceably. I have severla friends who have gone that route successfully.
