45 degrees on Long Island. This is where my bicycle commuting season starts drawing to a close. It's supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow, though, so it ain't over yet.

Yep, quite chilly this morning when I headed out at 7am. Being a newbie who started riding just a few months ago, I was really glad that I picked up some cold weather gear last weekend. I was quite happy with my comfort level with thermal tights and a light jacket, as well as a beanie to keep my head from freezing. Gives me confidence I can keep riding into colder weather by adding another layer without getting too bulked up.

Hey, no one is responding to my post about the Philly Bike Expo. Are you two Philadelphians going?

Probably not. If it's this weekend then definitely not. Registered for the Black Bear Century, which is Saturday. Of course now they pushed the rain back until Saturday, but Sunday may be dry. I know the roads up there so we can possibly ride some or all of the route on Sunday.

I went a year or two ago, but only because the admission was free. A LBS was offering free admission on Sunday to anyone who rode to the event on a Surly. The GF and I both have Surlys.

Hey...not fa nuttin', but this morning's ride to work was spectacular, and the ride home was almost as good. It may be Fall, but there are still some decent mornings to get out on the cycle.

...like THIS morning, for example. Another perfect one that looked lousy on paper.

Hey, if you wake up on the fence and you start deluding yourself that driving to work is the only option, push yourself to get on the bike instead. You won't be sorry.
