Our steel bike, belonged to our fgood friend Steve (R.I.P.) and bequeathed to us by his fiancee':

It's the first steel bike I've ridden in 22 years and what a smooth ride it delivers! How amazing!

Not sure if you're aware of the somewhat unusual history behind the builder of this bike -

https://www.allbusiness.com/retail-tr...4154669-1.html

From all accounts, he build great steel frames despite being a crack addled hair bandit.

Yes, we knew about that. Never thought we'd own a bike built by a wack-job. And it's a sweet ride, that bike.

That's actually a sad story...what's Simonetti up to now?

Just picked up my first road bike, and I have great aspirations of turning it into a simple, reliable fixie commuter (picture attached).

My new bike just came in - a Lynskey (custom made for someone else, but not too far off where I would have been) with full Rival, 28 spoke F/32 R wheels.

Not a great picture (nor a very good tape job), but here's a picture of my new bike after its maiden ride. Waited for months for my Red group to come in and I finally got it built this week.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about celeste, but if you're going to have a Ferrari, you're going to get a red one, right?

I just had my bike serviced, and they recommended switching from the SRAM chain. So now I have an Ultegra chain with the Red shifters/cassette/derailleurs. It's actually much quieter.

Something for you to think about if it ever gets noisy!

Mines a Rival group, and the shop recommended a KMC chain. I like that since the identical chain is also sold by Performance under the Forte label, and is often on sale for $25 - $30. And it has a missing link, so no tools to take it off for cleaning.
