That Vamoots is awful. You should just throw it in the trash. Hang on, I'll get you the address of a good trash bin, and when [strike]I'll be available to retrieve it[/strike] will be a good time to dump it.

(Kidding, of course. I've seen you post that one in the Road forum a few times, and it's very nicely put together.)

What's the name of that climb starting around 65km and ending at 100km? Any idea as to the gradient?

It's called Mt. Tamalpais (Mt. Tam). It is one of the three major bumps we have in the Bay Area with Mt. Diablo and Mt. Hamilton. It's a bit easier than Mt. Diablo in grades.
The scenery is different though. You can start from different places; from the coast just north of Stinson Beach, from the North at Fairfax through Alpine Lake and the redwood forest, or from the South. The views are outstanding especially above Stinson Beach on Ridgecrest.

That sounds fantastic...thanks. Gauging from how rough Diablo was a few weeks ago I'm sure I'd be in for a whupping with you guys. I was also wasy to spot...everyone else was wearing cool/semi-warm gear and I was the guy wearing winter gear.

Geez there's some b'ass bikes on this thread. Probably not the right forum for old folks, but still like riding the old steel.

I tried to get a Saronni Master XL last year and Colnago discontinued the paint scheme at the end of the year at which point I gave up. Found out a few months ago after still seeing it on their site that they kept it around for 09 since it was popular. The frame is absolutely gorgeous in person. Pix don't do it justice...hopefully it'll be done this month.

jeeeezus guys. i've got bikes, lots of bikes, but this thread makes me realize I don't have really nice bikes. That's Masi really does it for me. The Conalgo three post above - I'd probably have to hang that one on the wall just to be able to stare at it all the time.

Heh...thanks. So far I'm having a blast with the Masi around town. Perfect for cruising...NOT a weight weenie bike tho.
