With all of the nice stuff in this thread, I am going to ghetto it up a notch and say that I picked up some old Suntour XCT bar-top friction shifters at the swap meet at Sports Basement on Sunday. The rear shifter has the friction/indexed switch for 7sp, which I will not be using. As long as it pulls enough cable for a 9sp rear in friction mode, I will chuck my SunRace shifter in favor of this one.

Did my usual Monday AM post road race visit to Valencia Cyclery to get my rear derailleur straightened. They finally said don't bother....replace it. Problem is it would take a week or so to get the proper one. Quick search on android phone and thanks to info on BF I was able to buy a replacement from Perf Bike for $20. Apparently The PedalForce RS2 uses exact same hangar as their Scattantes.

P.S. So you were the one on PF in Folsom Crit. I wanted to pull up and say hi, but field got sketchy.

Finished up. Only got to ride it a short bit tonight but it's pretty damn sweet. The steerer is left a bit long 'cause I'm not sure how it's going to fit yet and once it's cut down you can't put it back.
Can't wait to hit Montebello tomorrow morning...

Nice! That titanium is looking quite stunning. Interesting choice for fork; would love to hear your feedback on it. Also difference in ride quality between steel vs. titanium.

The fork is a bit of an experiment. I got a pretty good deal on it via ebay and although it's a step up from what I'd originally specced for the bike (EC90 vs EC70), I wasn't expecting the Aero-ness so I'm little afraid it would look all "Tri-dork". It's the first CF component I've ever rocked/rubbed/palped so we'll have to see.

I just couldn't pass up this deal, especially with darkness coming.
https://www.geomangear.com/index.php?...s8mnlt438jsfp0
I used it on a ride up and over San Bruno Mountain in pea soup thick fog and was glad I had it. The beam pattern is a bit spotlightish but the spill isn't too bad.

Um Holy Crap Henry -- Am I reading that right? 1 emitter, 900 Lumens? wow.
This might be the year I lay my ghetto homebrew HID to rest.

It's probably 900 lumen in the hot spot, the spill is less. The lense could do a better job at dispersing the light but it's not bad for $90 shipped. I think the flashlight that Marco (and others) got puts out 900 as well.

Will do - I don't have a scale at home, but they are noticeably lighter than my OP's + specialized hubs that came stock on my bike. Like the way they spin, but I might not get to use them in anger until Tuesday .

My mini pump bracket broke today, so of course it was time to try out a whole new pump, and I took home one of these, a Lezyne pressure drive pump. I got the small version which is a little shorter than my old pump and fits nicely on the bottle cage on my seat-tube. It's made of metal which is nice, and has a detachable hose that stores in the barrel and screws onto presta valves. No more mini-pump bent valves for Beaker.
The aforementioned Williams wheels put up quite a fight with my new P3R's, so I ahem, found an opportunity to try out the new pump in the garage this afternoon - got to 80psi without much issue.

Thanks Mateo.
Jack, I got my first ride in with the 19's today - very nice, although I wasn't sure what differences I'd notice. They roll smoothly, and seem a little stiffer than my other wheels. I did my usual lunchtime loop out and back up San Bruno Mtn and was really surprised to notice how much difference there was when I got out of the saddle to climb - I found myself able to keep a higher cadence than before for a given gear, and, as advertised, if I tried my feeble attempt at a sprint the response really was noticable. Descending was very smooth and precise - but the sprint/standing climb were a really nice surprise. I'm just hoping for hub longevity.

Thanks for the report. If I were to scrounge up enough dough, and when the Mrs. isn't looking, Williams is on my list for sure.

Tired of the clicking noise on the tandem.
Ditching the Sram Red (1090R) Chain.
Just bought a KMC X10 SL (silver) since the reviews are very good. Hopefully it solves the problem.

Stopped off to pick up some of my favourite green pads:
Descending Diablo today was a blast - unfortunately Williams hubs > Williams pads
