Went with poor man's 29er tubeless solution, aka 26" latex tubes. Put one on, a little tight fit, but it seems ok. Also picked up something non-bike related since I was in the (bestest) shop.

I love Roaring Mouse...Chris is a great guy. I've been meaning to try the coffee as I keep seeing it by the register. How is it?

If you like a dark aromatic brew, it would be your cup of tea (so to speak).

BUMP!

I got some Gore Bike Wear Countdown gloves to replace my now destroyed Castelli "winter" gloves (they felt nice, but not warm nor water resistant, and they fell apart)

A pair of used 2005 Mavic Cosmic Carbone with removed decals, just because they were so cheap. They look really cool on the bike and are supposed to roll fast. Will see...

I went on a bender, of sorts, this week...

Something for my bum:

Something to replace my worthless Blackburn mini pump:

Some new fenders:

Some longer wool arm warmers:

And finally some spare tires (Conti GP4000S) and tubes.

I threw my cc away after all was said and done.

So Georges, did the R-sys finally detonate (didn't see a mushroom cloud from the neighbouring town tho') or have you succumbed to the "lightweight vs aero" debate?

I've been contemplating a power meter for several months now.

I finally pulled the trigger and it arrived today. Along with the new Edge 500.

I'm glad I waited.

No, still love my r-sys. The Cosmic were so cheap I couldn't resist the temptation of trying the aero thing. As I am still on the edge to jump into the CA Triple Crown double quest I am trying to get some equipment help. I bought some aero bars last year, they attach to the stem instead of the bars, and finally installed them this month. After some tweaking and a couple of rides they fill ok so the Cosmic are an addition that might be helping for a long, not too hilly ride such as a double. As they are about a pound heavier than the r-sys they will also be my trainer wheels, the r-sys still being my main wheels... unless they decide to detonate.

I will ride the Cosmic for the first time tomorrow morning; Lafayette to Blackhawk and back with a right turn on South Gate for an up an down to the ranger station or the junction.

Yeah! Merry Christmas to YOU!

On a non-related note:::: Anyone have experience with the Cygolite Mil-ion 150/200 headlights? It looks really awesome and I would buy it at REI (little risk involved), but I wanted some input... Anyone?

It was a very Merry Christmas! I won my fantasy football league... which helped pay for this quite a bit, and brought along bragging rights for the next year, at least.

I finally built the wheel and plan to tool around with it tomorrow and possibly race it Sunday at Cherry Pie.

On Cygolite, I can't speak for that model, but I've been commuting for 3 years with my Cygolite Dual Cross Li-Ion and it's the most awesome thing aside from the new Mity Cross. I'm a big fan of Cygolite.

Jacob got a new Felt Z24 today! Along with some nifty SPD compatible shoes and Wellgo pedals (they were light enough adjusting for him).

I just bought the Force shifters and RD off PBK for ~$480 and I thought that I was getting a steal haha. I would always be nervous buying something off ebay.

I just realized this is the Northern California section. I am not from Northern California. Sorry!

No need to be nervous. They go from 900-1000 as "buy it now" on eBay. There's a lady that sells complete 2010 Force groups in Menlo Park for $849. I contacted her when I was in the city last weekend but she didn't have my cranks in-stock so I went with this.

Picked up a FSA K-Wing bar and a FSA os-115 stem that are currently en-route. Thinking I'm going to stop this madness with a Chris King headset and get her all built up... The Cane Creek just doesn't cut it anymore. I'm beyond excited.

I've gone kinda crazy in the last month and gotten 2 cross frames!
One is an awesome Voodoo Wazoo that I drove from Berkely to Santa Cruz to look at / pick up. It has an Ultegra 9 sp setup and a nice solid wheelset... mavic ma3's w/ ultegra hubs. I was gonna swap that stuff onto a Soma Double Cross frame that I just bought... and build it up as kind of a light tour/commuter bike. But I ended up loving the Voodoo and I don't want to take it apart.
So, most recently I've been buying stuff for the Soma... a stem, bar tape, brakes etc... . Gonna put my old 105 stuff on it with the first wheelset I buit... Mavic open pros with anno light blue rims... the will look great on the bike which is just a solid black.
It's been an expensive month... but building bikes is just so dam satisfying!
