High School Student Who Needs Volunteer Hours!
I'm a high school student and I need some Volunteer Hours.
Any references? Because I prefer cycling-related volunteer oppurtunities, specifically at races I can't do...(ones without Junior Class)
Thanks, Dom

Check the race calendar (https://www.ncnca.org/road/) and pick a race you'd like to volunteer at. Contact the race promoter to see what volunteer opportunities there are for that event.
There's also organizations that do trailwork if you MTB. Passion Trail Bikes has a lot of trail work days, especially at Waterdog.
Here's a blurb from the recent newletter:

Last Sunday, a great crew did some major damage to a rock formation the Lake Loop Trail Realignment route had to cross, and now there's a giant boulder that needs to be moved down the trail to build up a retaining wall below an oak tree. The Belmont Lions will be joining us again like they did last year, and on March 20th we need a number of experienced trailwork volunteers to help us out and lead some small groups of volunteers. We are expecting a good turnout, so be sure to sign up to join the fun! We will be meeting at 8:30 am, and working until about 12:30pm. Possible projects include backfilling a retaining wall, removing some rock slides came down in the rains, cutting out brush for the final segment to connect the corridor around the lake, breaking up rock and setting it for a new stone retaining wall, and notching in the first pass of a bench cut on the slope beyond the first bridge.
Patty and Doug fracture a large boulder off a rock formation using chisel point rock bars.
Doug, Graham, Patty and Phil pose after moving the boulder away from its resting place.
To get a chance to leave your mark on this incredible trail, please volunteer some time this season to help out. If you can come on one of the dates below, please RSVP to Patty at patty@passiontrailbikes.com, and let her know you're coming. She will send you details on the project once they are finalized. And shoot an email out to your friends to let them know you'll be helping out. We need recruiters too!
Upcoming dates on our trailwork calendar are as follows:
Saturday 3/20
Sunday 4/11
Thursday 4/22

In addition to races, volunteers are needed at various Century Rides around your area.
Western States Ride Calendar has list of rides by date.
Good luck,
BR

Hmm, I might look into that Passion Trails trailwork. I did a lot of it over the summer in Colorado, so that might work out if I get a service project from the school.
