First ride today after my crash. Things continue to look up, up, and up. I was ready to try it after some big mental and physical wins this week.
  1. I put in a week of work full time this week.
  2. Yesterday I captained a rest stop on the Mt. Tam Double and Mt. Tam Century.
My rest stop crew was Mrs 0. plus Lance Youngstrong and Princess Oldstrong. We did it for the 2nd year in a row as a family, this was my 3rd year at the Point Reyes Station rest stop. We had a gas. The kids were so glad we did not have to miss it this year. They really look forward to it.

Ccccorlew, Mylilpony, and Monrezee all joined me and Mrs. O on an easy 14 mile ride that had a coffee stop.
I am so glad. I don't take any ride for granted now, not after 4 days in a bed with side rails. (2 in the ICU, 4 days total in hospital)

This ride was with my wife and the 3 friends who at times sat with her in the ICU helping her keep watch on me during the 2 days I was knocked out. GPS details of the ride: https://app.strava.com/rides/16784447

Where's the "Like" button? Glad to hear you got out for a ride, and thanks for supporting the double. Those rides wouldn't happen without the support of the community.

You had a fantastic rest stop, including the valet service (I was on the recumbent you parked). This was my first Mt. Tam Double, and I'll be back again next year.

LanceOldStrong Returns! by ccorlew, on Flickr

When I was a newspaper photographer I photographed a kid under a movie poster with a tag line that that read "Back from the grave and ready to party"

With a same line I present LanceOldStrong, with his wife (and support staff chief) Julie, having just finished his return to the road (or at least the MUP)

Strava stats or no Strava stats, it was a great and joyous ride.

I'm so happy for you, and so glad you prevailed! A lesser person might have emerged from your crash...impaired. Very, very happy for your progress. We weren't at your bedside (we didn't know for a long time what happened) but we were there in spirit, and still are. Looking forward to the ride wherein you add "0" to what you posted today. Then we'll know you're totally back.

Meantime, WTG, high-5s, hugs, etc. for today. I'm sure you're chuffed.

This doesn'tsay anything about the crash (was that another thread?) but glad to hear you came through it alright. I've ridden Mt. Tam double a couple of times, but don't remember your checkpoint.

But maybe that was before you were doing a checkpoint? Anyway, glad you recovered and hope the crash wan't too bad!

YAAAAAAAAY!!!!! (and yes, I meant to shout )

Fantastic news. Hats to the entire Oldstrong family - you guys have pulled together in a truly awe-inspiring way. We at Casa de Bikingshearer are absolutely delighted.
