Bothell/Kenmore to South Kirkland?
I wonder what route people take to get to south Kirkland (near Yarrow Pt) from Kenmore/Bothell area. I live close to BGT. Google map suggests 96th/100th through downtown Kirkland. Having driven that road a few times, I recall it's kinda curvy and narrow, at least on the north end. Downtown Kirkland is not exactly bike friendly, is it? Thanks.

You have several choices. The easiest is probably to take the Sammamish River Trail, get off at NE 124th, cross the valley and climb the hill (good shoulder or carpool lane all the way). Turn left on Slater Ave, follow it to where it turns right on 116th take that down to Market St., go left and work your way down to Lake Washington Blvd. I've done this many times and it's not a bad route.
Lot's of variations...left off Slater onto 124th, right on 80th, crossing 405 on the pedestrian bridge and then straight down to Lake St. is another favorite of mine. You can also come up Brickyard Rd from Bothell and come in that way.
Turn on the Bicycle layer in Google Maps and use street view to get a feel for the various roads.
