It's scattered on a Columbus sidewalk somewhere near the OSU campus now. My friend I was riding with works at a bike shop and told me he could of gotten it warrantied seconds after my fit of rage. I don't care though, I like the 500 better anyway. I believe that was the same day a bee flew in my mouth and stung the roof of my mouth. That was one of the worse days on a bike I can remember.

The sign was unharmed, it would be considered littering though I suppose.

I don't have any extra mounts, most bike shops seem to have them for a few $. You can use any generic mini USB cord for it, although I may have an extra charge (not data) cord floating around.

I don't have high expectations at this price point.

Polar is on my list (FT-1).

You said you had two of them sitting in a drawer, are you interested in getting rid of the other one?

I have some mounts I can dig up, and send your way if you wish. I know where at least one is off of the top of my head. I probably have an extra mini usb cord I can send you as well.

I have an F4 (they don't sell it anymore) I found it to be reliable, and a good product.
The Mr. had a Timex IM HRM/watch that he got for just over $100 IIRC, and it had a few more bells and whistles and worked well for him.
He had some $30 POS from Wal-Mart prior to that which was like flushing $30 down a toilet. Waste.

I'm gonna suggest a Garmin...but maybe not what you think. How about this one...Garmin FR60

It doesn't do GPS, but it is ANT+ compatible. That means you can add the speed/cadence sensor if you want to and it will do basic bike computer stuff. Later if you decide you want to go full-fledged GPS, then you'll only need to buy the base unit of whatever Garmin GPS you decide...you'll already have the heart rate monitor/strap and possibly the speed/cadence sensor.

A quick web price check shows it's available for $90 and up...in different configurations...

I used to walk exactly a mile each way to school. And it was up hill both ways, as I had to go through a valley to get there.

Excuses.

Hey Jen,

Isn't your "race" this weekend? If so, do you have reservations about the distance? I gather that you hadn't been riding much recently. Is it going to be dry and non-windy?
