What's to get? He's just asking if you are addicted enough to riding to ignore the dangers if the dangers were like smoking, of which people still do even though the dangers are known.

No ride today. Today was for work in the morning, then to clean up the "rubbish" in the yard and then to burn stuff. It took a while since I had to use the chiminea (burn ban). Got it cleaned up, now football. Long ride manana.

He's a professional bike mechanic, which makes him certified to work on cars as well.

Yes, those are skulls.

I'm waiting on a Thomson and a second Flite. I'll also be swapping out the road gearing, but for now, this is what you get.

Yaaayyyy! Mrs. Herbie. If she ever gets serious about cycling we are all eff'd.
That reminds me. I'm not allowed to race in my month old team kit because the new one has different sponsors. I missed this kit order. That means I can't race in my team kit until march.

Eff it, I'm going to until someone calls me out.

You need to make a list of every item that you want. Rate them from 1 to xx in terms of importance. Buy in that order. You'll thank me later

I need to start doing that. I tried a few months ago, but it started getting scary how much money it was all going to cost, so I put it off. Ignorance is bliss.

Just asking, why is the bike stuff before the car stuff? You need your car to get you places when you don't have time (or you have severe weather) to take the bike.

Razor, while the Droid (and most other "app-able" smart phones) will let you mimic a Garmin, one of the things to think about is the battery life. Most of the phones will not last as long as a dedicated cyclocomputer and if your phone dies, you've got no way to contact anyone in case of an emergency.

Also, if you ride with your mobile phone in a place where you can read it (ie, on your bars/stem) then you have to worry about it coming off, or get a very good mount for it. If it comes off an hits the road, you've pretty much just lost the phone. If you carry it where it won't be visible then it will be good for analyzing your ride later, but not much use on the bike.

If you can't tell, I'm not a big fan of using a smartphone for a cyclecomputer. I tried it with my iPhone, and while it's okay for a short ride, I really found it lacking on longer rides (35+ miles).

Again, YMMV...just my .02

But will it make you so much faster than now? Is it worth putting this, this high on the list. Your bike is nice, it will go as fast you can pedal it. Your development as a cyclist won't suffer with the bike you currently have.

Man, I understand it...I'm a big fan of newer, faster, better, lighter, etc. However, you need to consider what's REALLY important right now. Rather than spend every penny you get on new stuff, you should also be saving some for those rainy days that come along. And as someone who it has rained on pretty hard for a while, you should know what I mean...

Again, if I'm buttin' in, I apologize...I won't say anymore about it.
