That Matthews guy in the Bloomberg video? Why is he wearing that high-visibility jacket? Has he been out on the tarmac directing planes around?

I remember when I lived in NJ, there was a blizzard that hit NYC. We took the train into NY the next day. While there were less cars on the roads, the city seemed to be business as usual. Not so much here in OK. After the last major snow we had last year we drove to Tulsa and nearly every resturaunt was closed "because of the weather". We had driven 50miles with no difficulty.

Who insulted Razor last night? I saw him storm out of FB chat. Or was he merely angry about BLR's take on free will?

I'm not a regular, but it seems most evenings recently there's some chatter going on. It's not necessarily the same as here. Last night it turned rather philosophical with free will and pre-determinism. Imagine that discussion in the 41.

The places that normally get a lot of snow can handle it, because they get a lot of practice. Since it happens every year, they also invest in the proper equipment which makes things easier too.

For the same reason they close schools and everyone runs stores out of milk and bread in the south if there's 1/4" of snow, yet it takes over a foot or more to do the same in the north - we're used to it and better prepared.

When we get any amount of snow here everything usually comes to a hault. Roads get closed, schools get canceled, businesses lock up. Except for the people here from the north..they go about their regular day and talk **** to everyone freaking out about the weather

an american woman just described the scene at the airport as chaos like the new orleans stadium during katrina.
