Living where I do it costs a small fortune in travel expenses to get to races. For that reason a downgrade is out of the question. If there were a lot of local races I would do it but it would take too long to earn my cat 3 upgrade.

Since I'm so out of shape I just can't justify spending over $100 to go "race" only to be dropped a mile or two into it.

I still find it interesting that the males on this site obsess about their weight more than the women.

.
it is because we have all seen that lowering the weight part of the power/weight ratio actually is easier and more effective than increasing the power

I suspect that they do not obsess about it more. I think they just discuss it more.

plans going into action on saturday. my friend who lives in a part of the country that has some nice hilly landscape asked me to visit and I thought it would be excellent to turn up early in the morning, go ride in his hood and return to his house after lunch when he will actually be home. he's taking the kids swimming in the morning. seems a bit rude but so what.

what can i get for 3 kids. i only saw the eldest and that was when she was a baby.

This is also one of the few circles where it's ok to call someone fat. I love it.. I wish everyone would drop the sensitivity about "obesity" aka fatness. lol, 'we're all too fat for this sport'. That's awesome.

Fatties.

I know I am!
Only sport I know of where being nearly 6'4 and 190 lbs. is being "too heavy".

I'm listening to what coasting described as "thinking man's radio."

Do I seem smarter yet?

I'm too fat for this sport, but too thin for sumo wrestling. Oh well.
