a small number of cancers may be caused by candida infections, however the claims made by that guy are NOT valid in a clinically useful manner.

Where are your scientific sources please.

Yes Dr Mercola goes to great lengths to show his scientific sources probably because NO ONE else does. Dr Simoncini also goes to great lengths to demonstrate where using the "scientific" method led him and why. These guys use science.

The mainstream medical model CLAIMS to be scientifically based but if you ask even the most basic questions, if you look for the science its not there. Why? Because its PRIVATE. Its patented.

We have forsaken "Science" for a faith in "Private Research and Development". You believe that private R&D is going to come up with the answer because of course, anything good HAS to cost lots of money so when real science comes up with the answer on a shoe string budget everyone defers to their great faith, "Private R&D".

They cant believe their luck. Wake up and demand "SCIENCE", not private Research and development.

Anthony

I hope Merlin or someone else can explain what law was actually broken that the feds are investigating...I feel like I am missing that part. I keep hearing defrauded, and I am wondering who is being defrauded (the gov? the sponsors?) and how it is any different than a football player (they seem to get popped one a week) with NFL sponsors.

Also even if there are witnesses would that be enough "proof" to put someone in jail or would they need actual blood tests?

We'll see about his conscience. He'll have to write another book, raise $1M, and give it all back to the folks who donated to his appeal fund.

I don't think that's going to happen. You do, apparently.

I shouldn't be responding to nonsense on BF but you should know that patents are PUBLIC and essentially teach the reader how to construct whatever is being patented. It's just that the owner of the patent is protected from others using the invention for profit.

I believe this is aimed a FL, he solicited funds for a defence fund. Then came out and said he did it. This is going to be a hard one to spin.

I hope the old man can pull it off. I think that would be fantastic. But if not, I am glad he came back and gave it a go. would have been way better if he had never quit.

Sure. If he wins, good on him. Calling Floyd a "has been" when Lance didn't exactly win his last attempt, though, is disingenuous at best.

And before anyone accuses me of hating, I really, really, really don't care. I'm not going to watch a minute of the TDF. I'll only know who wins because someone will mention it here. It doesn't enter my world, and it doesn't matter to me who wins.

In many cases yes. I should have worded my post better. What happens in medical research/drug research is that the original data IS kept private. There are numerous steps involved in getting a drug to market but full data ex-closure isn't one of them.

What's this got to do with cycling anyway? We don't really need millions more dollars from the LAF for cancer research. We just need to use our brains.

Not arguing any of that but FL is probably going to be a has been due to the fact that no one will hire him after all this drama. Thats all. He burned a lot of bridges to get where he is. Maybe its kind of a Tyler Hamilton thing, screw the poch until there is no way you could go back. Forcing yourself to move on with your life. Who knows?

I'm loving these articles. Better than any ghost written "autobiography" of an athlete.

PS, UGASkiDawg: Channeling Sarah Palin doesn't exactly make you out to be one of the vast majority of people in the middle on the spectrum of radical political opinion. PPS, drill, baby, drill!

The sport is still a sport no matter how much they're getting paid. The money they receive is basically just glorified ad revenue. It has nothing to do with the sport itself. The prize money pales in comparison to their salaries.

There's no justifying cheating. Period.
