TDF all access "LIVE" on NBC Sports - When is it coming?

Did this the last two years and it was a decent way to watch it since my cable doesn't have NBCSports.
I've been looking on the website and have seen nothing. Are they having it? Jeeze, only 10 days away, i want to start watching some videos and seeing behind the scenes stuff already...

Anyone have any good info?

So far all I have seen is a COMING SOON for 2012. I would think a week out they would have some information on it. I don't have cable this year either and was kind of relying on this. I hate streaming eurosport.

This happened last year too. I don't think it all went live until the day before the tour. I have the iPad app from last year and when I click on anything it asks if I want to upgrade to the full app for $5.00. I'm going to wait and see what happens before I do that, but it would be cool if it works.

Looks like it's available now. I went ahead and bought it. Looking forward to having HD quality I can stream at my pleasure when I get home from work!

Ok. Nevermind, I found out what it is. I did just call dish network (my provider) and I was able to upgrade to get NBC sports for one month and then it drops back down... just an fyi.

I don't have cable, what is the cheapest way to get the tour? Is it this live access? Or some iPad app? Can I watch the stages on my own time?

Yes, this is the cheapest. $30 for the whole TdF. You can watch it whenever you want throughout the day, or throughout the entire month. Pause, rewind, etc at your pleasure.

It's cheaper to stream live from Europe, but horrible quality video, and I can't stand watching in another language or have awful announcers.

Last year they offered what they called all access and made it look like you got online streaming as well as iPad access. This was not true. The thirty dollars was just for steaming on the web. I purchased it thinking all access meant just that. I complained and was refunded the thirty dollars. By then, the fifteen dollar iPad app was only five dollars because it was aout a week into the race. That turned out to be awesome once they ironed out the kinks. You could watch the race live or taped in its entirety later, although it took them anywhere from an hour to almost the day to post it. That I remember was very frustrating. But the app worked really well for the most part and I watched almost the whole tour on it.

I'm going to buy the iPad app again.

Let me see if I understand.

The $30.00 option is for live streaming online through the computer. More feature rich option it sounds.

$15.00-$5.00 iPad option had delayed posting of videos of that days race?

I guess you could pay the $30.00 and watch whatever you wanted on the iPad? I have a PC too.

No, if you want PC and Ipad its $30+$15.

I have my computer hooked up to the TV, so PC is an obvious choice for me. Not sure how you guys can enjoy watching the race on an Ipad, so small!

They ran the race live every day but the taped race was delayed until a few hours later sometimes.

I have an iPad 2 and an apple tv so I can actually mirror the image and watch the entire thing on my tv without a problem. But my computer last year overheated running the live stream so I had to resort to the iPad. Which really did work fine for me.

You couldn't just run it on the iPad because of the format they were streaming. iPad doesn't have flash and even though I have other browsers on the iPad that do interpret flash sites that site did not work.

Hey you work with you have, ya know?

i usually tried to watch it riding on the trainer and flash forward for the highlights. Good motivation.

This time I'll look for a spare HDMI cable and route it to the TV

Yeah, and dont forget when you downgrade back to your previous package you get hit with an additional $10 surcharge. I'm going to try the streaming this year instead. That way I can watch live at my desk at work. :-) Shhhh....

So, if I want to watch via iPad (and occasionally do the Apple TV mirroring) all I need is the iPad app for $15?
For some reason I thought the app was just features and info, but no streaming.

Also, is the app available yet? I checked the App store a few weeks ago and couldn't find it. I see that they have a section on the website this morning (https://tourdefrance.nbcsports.com/) that says Mobile apps but when you click on it, it just says "coming soon".

Race starts tomorrow, right?

That happened last year too. The apps did not go live until the day before the race I think.

If it's the same as last year, it had live streaming and taped. Live started the race with the European commentators and then it switched to Paul and Phil at 8 am. Don't know about this year though.

But yes, I only used the iPad to watch the tour. It had some cool tacking features and great pics and videos too.

Bought the iPad app this morning. Works great for me. Have not had any of the reported audio problems or have seen any commercials that others have complained about. AirPlay to my tv makes it like I have it on cable. I'm thrilled!

Oh, and it works on my iPhone 4s too. You get it too when you buy the app.

Did NBC gobble up Versus to form NBCSports? I didn't think we had it, but it's where Versus used to be. We didn't even bother looking for Giro coverage on TV, just went straight to streaming an Italian channel.
