Recumbent for tall person

Would like to get a Recumbent cycle, but am not sure if they make one
that will fit me. Besides Rans who are the other large makers?
I'm 6'4", 230.

Look at the online catalog at www.hostelshoppe.com for a fairly comprehensive
listing of a variety of different models. Bents are adjustable over a fairly wide range and come in several sizes, 6'4" is not a problem. Burley (the tandem folks), Haluzak, www.rotatorrecumbents are some other makers. www.bentrideronline.com
is an online magazine that comes out 10-12x/yr and has a lot of reviews and has
had all issues for past ~3yrs online, but last time I looked the link to old issues was
not where it used to be, so a search or inquiry may be needed to find it. The site is free and has a BB also. Steve

I met a guy on a bike trail last weekend who was very tall. He was riding a Haluzak with underseat steering. He told me that he had put many thousands of miles on that bike and also owned a few other recumbents.
See if you can find an LBS near to you that specializes in recumbent bikes and try a few out.

As you have already found out, Rans and Easy Racer probably are the most popular and adjustable recumbents on the market for a tall person. Both companies offer Extra Large Frames. Another Company that I am familar with is Long Bikes out of Colorado, but it depends if you want over or under the seat steering. Linear if they are still in business used to make adjustable frames for tall riders as well. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the guy that was welding the titaium Easy Racer Ti Rush, but I do recall he had his own recumbent company as well. What you might do is write the editor at www.bentrideronline.com and ask him. I think his name is Brian.

Hope this helps!

Jason

Steve Delair of Rotator Recumbents welds up the Ti Rush frames for Easy Racer.
At one time he also did the Gold Rush Al frame. He also makes Barcroft frames
in chromemoly. Steve
