Thanks, That is helpful info for down the road. I have a guy at work that it trying to talk me out of a trike, he thinks they are death traps. I am still not entirely convinced I could get a diamond frame that wouldn't hurt me though.

Safety on a trike has more to do with how you ride rather than how low you are. Same with my lowracers. Ride to be seen, not along the curb and up next to parked cars. Trikes are bigger and taller than squirrels, dogs, 2-year-old toddlers, and lane lines. And drivers see all of those. Position yourself for maximum visibility so you don't suddenly appear from 'behind' another car, and if they don't see you it's because they wouldn't have seen a full-height bike either. That's when defensive driving skills come in handy, same as on an upright.

I bought my Catrike Annihilator from Utah Trikes. I recommend you email them or phone them to discuss your needs, likes and dislikes, and let them suggest some options. The Catrike is the only trike I have owned, but I have been very impressed with it for the 13-months I have had it.

I rode my Actionbent trike for some time. While that company is no longer selling trikes they were just rebranding TW Bents trikes (from what I understand anyway). It was very easy to ride, once I got it dialed in, and it was quite a bit quicker than I expected, although it does weigh quite a bit. Just make sure you don't take any hard turns at speed, you'll find out how easy it is to roll one of these things, I have the scars to prove it and I imagine many others here have them too.
