sorry for two posts in a row but:
who wants to meet up on tuesday/wednesday/or thursday and go riding/pillaging.
i need something going on after work in the middle of the week to maintain sanity.
i get off work at 6, so 7 is usually best for me so i can run home quick.
also, there are no grills at haines, so we need one of the following things:
1) a 50 gal drum, cinderblocks, charcoal, lighter fluid, something to hold food off the charcoal.
2) a charcoal grill.
3) a gas grill.
anybody want to volunteer one of these items?
also, we need somebody to transport said item to haines.
...volunteers...?
(food is really important to me, ha)

ryand...
here in chicago, some guys attached a trailer to a brakeless fixed steamroller and rode a grill, charcoal, sausages, peppers, and buns for 30 miles up to the track a few weeks ago. oh, and beer too. Did i mention the beer?
be creative! there's always a way to get it there by bike. i know chain reaction has a trailer...

However, since DC has hills lets use bike with brakes. Trailers are great especially with heavy loads up to 300 lbs. And it is kinda ****ed up when you are carrying such weighty loads. The fixed gears themselves become a liability. Makes you realize why the freewheel is an improvement.
Maybe someone would like to invite Jimmy, Carlos, Max and Omar from Chain reaction and they can bring the trailer. They are open now Thur and Fri. 11-6, Saturday 11-5.

However...
Why don't we have more trailers?
Joel?
In other news.
We have room in a very bike friendly house. Does anyone know anyone?
If you came to Saturdays blow out you know its glory.
Details?
Check yersterday's craigslist under "gorgeous brownstone mansion"

Hey Red, do you have any 52-54cm Three speed frames you're selling? Um, if you do, PM me cause I'm in the market for a new toy.

Re: tickets in the district. I was hit by a moving co's truck at Calvert and Connecticut about a year back and I was issued a ticket for "Failure to maintain lane." I had already been hit by this truck and I was _standing_ in a crosswalk trying to get the driver to stop. He ran over my bike and right foot trying to get away.
Luckily there was a witness who said she saw my foot under the truck wheel and me screaming and this made it into my pd-10 rpt. I sent in a contest by mail saying that I was using clipless and that there was no way I was changing lanes when the driver rolled over me. About a month ago I got a notice that I had successfully contested and that my $5 was revoked.
I also threatened to take Security Moving Company to small claims and they gave me $1000, which I hastily reinvested in all new goodies for my Hardrock

Also, I know a few of us will be taking automobiles down there anyway, so it seems a little easier to just do that. Anyway, Ryan I leave the food end of things up to you since you seem on top of it. If anybody has a couple coolers for beer, soda etc... that'd be awesome.
