how did the polo go ?...# per team ? I don't know about golf club shafts for mallets....sounds delicate. The wooden shaft (broom) is good for mallet to mallet love.

brad: the only thing is that the guys there said the broom handle ones don't last very long. He said they basically just use them for backups/loaners/etc because they wouldn't last through a tournament. Of course, they're playing harder than we do, but still.

Yeah, not caring about your bike certainly helps. As does just having a bike set up properly for it (flat/riser bars + low gearing).
edit: remember the cardboard disk wheel? I didn't know before, but that guy plays polo. He's in the video from the NYC tournament earlier this month playing against Ottawa:

That particular broomstick is actually thin-wall aluminum tube. I do remember he said they wouldn't last though... although I imagine wooden broomhandles are still cheaper than clubs and much easier to work with!

You're probably right. In fact, since I already have to make a trip to Canadian Tire...

I was talking to a friend about hitting the don. Interested? I'm doing Kelso on Sunday. Staying in town on Monday 'cause I'm not dealing with the traffic

So I did a fitting session for a customer yesterday ... adjusted his bars, swapped out his stem for a new one ... adjusted his saddle height/position. He came in today with a MASSIVE black eye, swollen completely shut and blue/purple/black. All I could think was "oh god I didn't tighten something down and he bailed hard - now he's going to kill me." In reality, he got pwned during a water polo match.

Even better if he comes in with the bike in two peices. I'll do that to keith just to keep him on his toes.

Well, I have plans on Sunday afternoon, so unless you're going to be doing a morning ride I likely won't be able to make it. And if you're partying on Saturday night, I doubt you'll me mtn biking on Sunday morning.

Don's the best bet on Monday IMO unless you like sitting in traffic (which is very high on my list of things I hate)
So... Flightdeck says that the max speed for today's ride was 135.2kms/hr! I'd have guessed around 60 but I can hardly argue with a computer!

More something to have fun putting together than actually useful I'd say! (I think the guy that built it feels the same!)
