i hear that. work is paying for me to do the food handler's certification on monday. i'll officially be certifiable...

ps. yay for finally getting rain pants! BoW did have some for cheaper, but they were super thin material so i opted for the MEC ones afterall. staying dry FTW!!

From what I have heard, the R3 is a bit more comfortable because the Soloist is so f'in stiff. I should shoot for this if only because it looks so ridiculous (although I don't know how I feel about the geometry...):

TRaffic Jammer 11-21-07 12:46 PM

Q: Do I ride the beater with really really really (really!) worn out 23c slicks? Or the cross bike with knobbies? :)

Flimflam 11-21-07 01:16 PM

Hmm doh, wasn't expecting snow just yet and I've still got road tyres on my MTB... Maybe I'll see how the roadie fares :p

I'd go with the beater - but the cross bike would be fun I bet ;)

Can't wait to get out there today, a rare day I'll bother to wear my rain pants as well as the jacket, I love this stuff :D

Ooh way to keep it going! I'm guessing you are referring to "pulling" the brake levers?

shapelike 11-21-07 01:45 PM

Hahaha, I've met my match.

Kol.klink 11-21-07 02:03 PM

I need some bike chums, Now that my brother is off at collage, and my GF/firends/family are getting sick of me blitering on about bikes, i realise i need some people that are as into bikes i am. some people to ride with who i don't have to wait for every 2 blocks, anyhow i realise this is a dumb post. but i don't know where else to make an apeal for bike chums! anybody who sujests CL personals is due for a smack!

Flimflam 11-21-07 02:20 PM

Assuming they're still going to be on (weather permitting, I'd guess) - there's the weekly Devil Strip Roller sprints tonight, I've not been for a few weeks due to familial commitments, but I'll be there tonight if they're on. Check back here around 5pm for the usual confirmation. I'm new to the crowd too, I get out and about when I can though.

What kind of riding do you do, I'm not very varied (commuter/small tour/street riding), but a bunch here do different riding styles.

It's the last friday of every month.. so, no. The following Friday is the last day of the month (Nov 30).

Flimflam 11-21-07 02:51 PM

Thanks for the route suggestions, I might take Jane as that takes me all the way to pretty much where I need to be (near IKEA on that AMC plaza) I'll be heading north at around 2-2:30pm so the traffic should be OK - coming home I might head east a little and come down Keele to drop onto Parkside for the Ronces 'hood.

Thanks shapelike, you're all open and stuff this weekend yes yes? I'll probably have time to swing by - appreciate it greatly.

TRaffic Jammer 11-21-07 02:54 PM

You don't wanna know any of us, especially not that Wes guy. And watch out for the shifty shapelike (open no link he presents you with unless you are in a concrete bunker away from all humanity.

I am going to get some rollers one day, do they really wear out your tires a lot though? They look like fun.
