duppy.conqueror 12-16-07 10:08 AM

Edit: Someone just referenced J.R.R. Tolkien in the new Wu-Tang album ...

jeremywhitehorn 12-16-07 10:11 AM

today is a perfect hibernation day - only outside to let the dog out. riding in this weather would be more stressful than fun or practical, which is my que to leave the bike indoors.

jeremywhitehorn 12-16-07 10:12 AM

correct me if i'm wrong - is that the wu-tang hand flash?

I'm calling it a snow day for the shop, but I do plan to attempt to ride my mountain bike to the humber and back along the lakeshore trail for fun. That could either be fun or difficult. Or both.

I'm all set with clip on fenders and 35psi :)

I am not sure if it irony or what but on the way to pick up the rollers, I found a TTC metropass on the ground. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something....

I really hope my catering gets cancelled tonight, but I doubt it. So looking forward to driving the econoline van in this weather.

Why don't you get a cheapie mp3 player with radio and load it up with a tonne of favorite music and books on tape etc? College st?

cavit8 12-16-07 11:34 AM

I was tempted to ride down to little India until I saw AdventureBoy TM scream by in his Suburban Adventure Vehicle. Doubtless on his way to pick up drycleaning or some other tribulation.

And the city grader just went by and filled the bike lane.

I was shoveling the snow, and there were trucks after trucks, fishtailing and speeding across Hallam. Seems that they have finally found conditions suitable for a oversized urban assault truck.

Who has toboggans?

shapelike 12-16-07 11:58 AM

I can only imagine how many people are hitting the "4WD" button for the first time today and thinking it'll magically give them the ability to drive like a pro. Get ready to dodge some out of control SUVs, everybody.

haha. Yeah right. I couldn't even get started on Sorauren. I ended up riding East on Queen until I caught up with the snowplow around Shaw and then turned back. It was amusing seeing everyone trying to get their cars out of a 3' pile of ice and slush.

After that, I was out front shoveling the walkway and a guy rode by on a Pugsley, Even he was having trouble with the snow (although he was managing to ride Sorauren). He was happy though, apparently he'd been "waiting all year to try this out!"

...and not one of those fancy, long green onions, one of those ol-tymey bulb onions thank you very much...of course, this is back when nickels had bees on them...

TRaffic Jammer 12-16-07 01:24 PM

I rode a few blocks to Price Chopper, dang it was harder than the hour of shoveling.... veeery soft mushy tires helped.
