My favourite is having a darning needle dragon fly using your shoulder as a hangar. I had one that would come by sit on my shoulder, eat it's bug, then off for another. I had one ride about ten km on my shoulder on my Newfoundland bike trip. He sat there while I went into the airport then took off when I came back out.

Do you always have to identify yourself to police when asked?

Bart: Remember when Tom had you in that headlock and you screamed, "I'm a hemophiliac!," and when he let you go, you kicked him in the back?
Homer: Yeah.
Bart: Will you teach me how to do that?
Homer: Sure, boy. First, you gotta shriek like a woman and keep sobbing until he turns away in disgust. That's when it's time to kick some back. And then when he's lying down on the ground,...
Bart: Yeah.
Homer: Kick him in the ribs.
Bart: Yeah.
Homer: Step on his neck.
Bart: Yeah.
Homer: And run like hell.

ps. I experienced the aphids on my way home from the pub. yikes.

andrew: couldn't have put it better myself.. oddly enough I moved to Toronto within days of getting back home from that last tour. Well timed, says I!

Yes, but you are not required to show ID. Note subsection 4.

Section 218 of the highway traffic act

218. (1) A police officer who finds any person contravening this Act or any municipal by-law regulating traffic while in charge of a bicycle may require that person to stop and to provide identification of himself or herself. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 218 (1).

(2) Every person who is required to stop, by a police officer acting under subsection (1), shall stop and identify himself or herself to the police officer. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 218 (2).

(3) For the purposes of this section, giving one's correct name and address is sufficient identification. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 218 (3).

(4) A police officer may arrest without warrant any person who does not comply with subsection (2). R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 218 (4).

You might argue that if you're not contravening the act you don't, but if you take that tack, remind the police officer that you pay his salary.

There was a case I remember where a kid rode through a stop sign on a bike. He was pulled over and didn't feel it was his duty to provide his name. The court agreed (this was likely before the HTA section) but the court said that the cops have the right to determine his name, so it was fair for them to throw him in jail for 38 hours while they did that.

Anyone interested in a PBK order? I'm ordering some tires while the 5% off + free shipping is intact.

26" disc on a 700c fork. No wonder the guy took the pic with the bike lying on its side. That thing would be a terrible ride.

I have a couple of stop watches. They are good ole fashioned ones tho. My I-Pod has a stopwatch on it as well.
End o Polson....right at the waters edge.
