I'm happy with them, but I don't think they work any better than nice oldschool single pivots if you can find them.

Also did you get slapped with customs/duties on that from the ebay guy?
I'm coming down for CM if it isn't -3994939degrees. OR if we're going to get beer afterwards and/or sample the herbal stuff.

Also looking for those in 700c format ^ Velocity deep v's. They were going for like $50 pair on ebay.

Very low bust factor unless you're riding like an ass or disobey our escort.
Might want to bring a light (or lights) if you don't normally rock 'em, but that's about it.
I've never understood the bell thing. I find my voice works a whole lot better than a little bell! It's nice to have a bell if you're too shy to talk/yell, but I don't see why it should be required by law.

Word to the herbology.....hmmm I'll need to find a place to go BEFORE the CM but AFTER work, and of course some beers afterwards. I'll check with the administrator..(my lovely wife) and we'll see. Somnambulant....any chance of getting operator arrested? Just for giggles mind you, nothing malicious.
where does it all end? I concur with the bell silliness, but if I'm going to goto CM I must avoid tickets if possible. Lights ..jacket all good.... bell.... i can do. Listening to our *******...I don't know..lol... as long they don't try to split the group up by making us sit at lights.

I can't remember if I got slapped with any charges or not-it was over a year ago when I bought them. Usually it is not bad if you get it shipped USPS. A lot of times it slips through with nothing that way.

Traffic Jammer: Where abouts do you work again?
I'm definitely up for meeting before AND after for some beer and/or coffee and/or etc. I just work at Bay & Davenport, so the CM meetup spot is pretty close to me. We could be up around here someplace beforehand for a coffee, and then hang out after for a while.

Bikes: Menonite black urbanite, probably enough spare parts to make anther one.

ask him to write "gift" on the canada customs form. but, if the package is big enough (wheels, frames) they open it anyway and charge you duty. i once payed $20 duty on a bike frame i paid $12 for.
BTW - i fail to see how antiquated single pivots stop as well as modern dual pivots. the only older brakes that can match modern dual pivots are those old mafac racer centre-pulls.

FYI writing gift on a canada customs forms for ebay can and will get you charged these days. Customs and Transport Canada are really trying to cut down on such things and have become much more attuned to such thing. So if you do it and end up having to go to court don't say you weren't warned. Just a warning from a guy with a friend at Customs Canada

Umm because nearly every ebay transaction includes, as you've already realized, a receipt. Plus they can just contact the sender and ask them and I bet they are not going to remeber to lie to save your butt.

ps. isn't CM next week, not this week? Or did I just misunderstand. This Friday is the 24th, next Friday is the 31st. Isn't CM the last Friday of every month?

On the topic of Doom-related mcs, MF DOOM (and his umpteen million aliases) is a personal favourite of mine.
See:
- Danger Doom - The Mouse and the Mask (MF DOOM and Danger Mouse)
- Madvillain - Madvillainy (MF DOOM and Madlib)
- MF DOOM - Operation: Doomsday (MF DOOM circa 1999)
- Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain (MF DOOM alias circa 2003)

Any of you prospective CM'ers have a cell phone? I'll be working until 7pm next Friday in all likelihood, but then I can kick it over to wherever you guys are on the ride. No hurry, but as it gets closer to the date let me know your cell # please if you plan on heading to CM.
Edit: got my spell on.

Do not forget King Geedorah (2003)
and also the KMD albums (early 90's), Black Bastards for best rap album of all time!
Operation Doomsday rules. I was gonna post up that Doom rules in general but am even happier now that someone beat me to it!

Also, the original PC game Doom rules hardcore. Many a night my young self was scared by the giant brainy pink monster that went "crunk crunk".
