everyone else: bust out your mountain/cross/whatever bikes! It doesn't matter if you think they suck.. it'll still be fun times!

Just 'cause you got a nice pen, it don't help your penmanship! </very obscure, somewhat embarassing canadian indie rock reference>
hahahahahahahaaha. Just buy it. I wish those guys were still around. If you have any of their stuff converted to mp3 please let me have a copy! I've only got it on tape (aka the only format it ever existed on pre "this will make you happy" AFAIK)

Somewhat embarrassing my ass! I don't recall anyone else rocking out in a space suit hooked up to a leaf blower in a church basement any time lately!

Also. I'm likely down to ride on wednesday.

Congratulations Chris! I can only imagine what it must feel like to have a new child. Also I love any occasion that is an excuse to smoke a cigar.

Flimflam, I think I saw you today at Bells on Bloor, but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to ride up next to some dude and say "Flimflam? From the INTERNET!" and get a really strange look.

Thanks all. Perhaps a little soon to get him on the fix scene. Both mother and baby are fine and doing great. A healthy and happy baby with all 21 appendiges. We are both thrilled and terrified at the same time. Anyway back to Womens college I go. Pics to follow when I can.

Cheers all.

Chris

@Traffic Jammer - was that you at the Training Room this morning? Could swear it was you but was not 100% sure. If not, you've got a doppelganger ...

James, I still have that buffalo cycling cap for you. Do you still have that PAC bag for sale? How's your clavicle doing?

three, three, three questions in one post.

I don't mind riding my mountain bike and think I'm free on Wednesday, but what's the deal? Anything remotely tricky? I'm not so great offroad, and I'd ideally want my fenders off and back wheel trued...

TylerM, yep I was there... I was riding alongside zippered the whole time - unless you don't know any of us..

I think this is just incredible... the very fact they're able to go out and do this stuff is kickass.

Bikes: Menonite black urbanite, probably enough spare parts to make anther one.

unfortunately, i find mysef in the position of working every night this week. to be honest, that will be the case for the next little while. if you guys end up doing the weekly single speed off road ride take some pictures and allow me to live vicariously through you. for now the only rides i get in are commutes...

I love it when you accuse someone of doing something wrong while they're driving and they respond with some reason they think is totally acceptable (usually involving their convenience). This morning a pickup truck drove through the bike lane from Spadina to Huron with inches to spare between the parked cars on one side and the regular traffic on the other. Then they of course, stop and continue to block my way trying to make a right turn onto Huron. As I go around them (I could get through the peds crossing the street, unlike them) I say "nice one!" into their window. I'm going down Huron and I hear them accelerating to catch me, and they say 'I was just trying to turn right!'. Me: "That was a bike lane!" Them: "I was just trying to turn right!" Me: "You drove an entire block through the bike lane.. Spadina to Huron." *pause* Them: "I was just trying to turn right!" Obviously that's where I gave up. The two people in there were super irate about the whole thing, so it obviously wasn't going anywhere. I mean, I guess they did have a good reason to be mad.. after breaking the law they DID get told "nice one" but some dirty pinko, hippie, terrorist cyclist.

ps. happy ****ing monday.
pps. on the other hand, I did see a cop speaking to someone who was parked in a bike lane this morning. The cop was parked on a side street, and it looked like he walked over to tell them not to be a dink or something.

Technically, you ARE allowed to go into the bike lane to turn right and if more motorists knew and practiced this I bet there would be a lot less right hooks in the city.

Driving a whole block on one is another matter altogether though!
