Oh yeah, the right turn wasn't the problem. Hence the reason their repeated response was ridiculous. Unfortunately most drivers think the dotted line for the bike lane means that they have the right of way, which I don't think is true. I've had far too many turn through the bike lane with not even a glance in their mirror, or the 'ol pull over and jam on the brakes move when I'm 20' behind them.

unfortunately, i find mysef in the position of working every night this week. to be honest, that will be the case for the next little while. if you guys end up doing the weekly single speed off road ride take some pictures and allow me to live vicariously through you. for now the only rides i get in are commutes...

the dotted line is where they are allowed to SHARE with others in order to turn right. The solid line is solid for a reason...it gives them something to centre their cars on so they don't scrape the tires on the sidewalk. ******s... 'but I was turning right and all these cars were ahead of us going straight'

"RIDE IN" MOVIE NIGHT! MOVIE NIGHT! MOVIE NIGHT!

"DAN! SNAP OUT OF IT! YOU WILL RIDE AGAIN!"
So there has been talk about screening "The Flying Scotsman" and other bike shorts.
I am hoping that you all will be available for Thurs evening the 27th 7:00 or so into the night. I have a venue: backyard on Hallam St., with a "screen", and a laptop with reasonable detached speakers/subwoofer, and HOT CHOCOLATE. All are welcome. I need you to bring, blankets, tarps for ground, lawn chairs, and your beautiful selves. Some mentioned that they might be able to get a projector (this is key!). I am able to drive and pick it up some time this week to ensure safe transpo if you wish.
Please send me a pm or discuss so we can see how many can attend on Thurs and whether this is possible. Thanks!

I'm definitely in for Thursday night. If Keith can't make it / provide a projector, I can borrow one. Great caption, btw.
Also: I'm goin for a ride in the Don tonight. Leaving my place around 6-ish. If anyone wants to join, PM me.

Also, I have heard that Hardwood is pretty dry and sandy. Should I be putting the old "smoke darts' back on?

yeah...dry, sandy...lots of wood chips. Tire choice is fairly subjective but the folks I know who ride there regularly typically run "fast" tires.

I've ridden there plenty of times with just semi-slicks and aside from the couple of sandy climbs in the Southwest corner that worked out great.
Are you riding into the dark tonight Wes or hoping to get out of there before sundown?

Your kid looks like she is seriously enjoying the comfort of that trailer. We had been talking about how wonderful it would be to ride in one of those and just nap away...

wtf. I hate windows.. Some window popped up while I was typing an email and of course it stole 'focus'. But since I was typing everything went into the new window and before I realized what had happened something I hit (perhaps a space) made the little window dissappear again.. I wonder what I just confirmed / agreed to!?
Oh os x, you're so much better.. If a program wants my attention it just jumps up and down in the dock.

I was going to meet Vinnie at the Bike Clinic at 7:00 when he shuts down and leave from there to the don. Wes is planning on riding around 6 or so...
Went for a ride out to the light house on the leslie spit the other night and explored inside.
Took some neat pics.

Mitch: I'm aiming more for 6:30pm now. I gotta run a few errands after work.
Also: nice shots. I didn't know you could get in there.. I've never tried before. I used to love exploring places like that with camera in hand.
