Go south, young man (Dundas and Jones here).
Red Rocket - Greenwood and Queen East http://redrocketcoffee.com/
Mercury - further west http://mercuryorganic.blogspot.com/
Dark Horse Espresso bar - further west again (Broadview and Queen).http://www.blogto.com/cafes/darkhorse
Tango Palace http://www.blogto.com/cafes/tangopalace (very good Nanaimo bars) and mellow back deck in the summer.

Herbie_Glick 03-30-08 05:40 PM

Mercury has my vote on that one.

DSR updated as of 5 minutes ago.

Fuzzz 03-30-08 06:18 PM

Hey Yo everyone.... it's been a couple months and somewhere near 400 forum pages since I've dropped in. It's been a busy winter but I'm back on the road and thought I should say hi.

Nothing much. I left down Queen ahead of the pack, and I assume they ended up at 761 Queen.

That's why, whenever we have a local alleycat race, I will stay behind and work for those who desire to rage in traffic with unknown riders of uncertain abilities.

I am a faster than average rider and balls-out in traffic. I do not want any other riders near me ever. One other rider is one too many extra things to watch out for. As for a group? Never.

There are a small few persons whom I trust ripping through traffic with me. They both do the races and are quite happy about it. I can totally ignore them in traffic because I know exactly what they WON'T do. They will never cross my wheel or ride in my blind spots. They will give me the whole road - all three lanes shoulder to shoulder - to maneuver. I do the same when they take the point. They know when to pass. We may take some silly chances with cars, but never with each other.

As for strangers.....who knows what boneheaded things they may be capable of.

Wooka..... Go out now! I just finished doing my spring tune up on the Ciocc. And after riding the Raleigh Record all winter, getting back on something light and twitchy and taking it out for a quick rip...

it is so choice....

jeremywhitehorn 03-30-08 10:28 PM

Everything about that wheel is quality. Don't know if cyclesolutions built the thing, but I haven't had a single issue with it. The hub itself is really, really versatile; you can use it on pretty much any frame, and the bearings are really smooth. If I were to get a better wheelset for the Jamis, I'd definitely look at a Mavic/White Ind. build. IMHO, they get out-shined by Phil Wood too often.

operator 03-30-08 11:35 PM

Rain = lower rolling resistance = fast!

Edit: DB error my ass, Is the censors ****ed too?

exhibitx 03-31-08 05:40 AM

this weather blows

jeremywhitehorn 03-31-08 10:07 AM

I know the guy selling it. If it was my size it wouldn't have made it to Craigslist. Super nice classic handbuilt! To the 17 inch Mtn bike riding folks...I have a sweet loaner anytime someone would like to hit the trails.

On an unrelated note...I am now not only a Mountain Bike Commissaire but also a UCI licensed Team Manager, Director Sportif and Mechanic. Can't wait to work the pits at Canada Cup and World Cup this year.

Wow! no guff. You weren't kidding when you said something along the lines of never wanting to adjust super cycle seat height again ;) I can't wait for the mtb season!

cavernmech 03-31-08 12:02 PM

Thanks guys. Coaching Theory and Road Commissaire are next on the list. Surly race officials better watch out for me this year! ;)
I took the plunge and registered for Single Speed O-Cup this year. Should be interesting.

Herbie_Glick 03-31-08 12:18 PM

somnambulant-Sorry I missed ya, out stuffing my face and wrestling bank officials, lady at scotia is a real biotch!

cavernmech-Good for you dude! I'm up for coaching theory if you want to go together. I also will be racing SS this year! With the mass start maybe we should wager on who can obstruct Maki and Brad the most through out the season? hahahahaha

I didn't think Maki was racing S.S. this year? I make no presumptions on taking a better start corral position from those guys...you on the other hand? ITS ON!

TRaffic Jammer 03-31-08 12:31 PM

Now to find out where all the dusty old bike shops are
