I. Hate. Streetcar tracks. Swollen wrist, and knee. Many thanks to the driver who was aware of the cyclist ahead of him (me) and was driving accordingly so that he didn't smoke me when I went down.

Idiot drivers or road conditions?

TRaffic Jammer 12-18-07 09:12 AM

Copy paste from Gmail biotchin to Shamil

i thread around this cager at the light at pape
looong gone by the time he gets green
up near j simpson near degrassi
he pulls up ..paces me while driving through giant slush
soaking me from head to toe
simply B/c I eff passed him while he stodd still
so fukkin pissed
then the effin coward pulls to centre lane at red @ broadview
i'm litterally COVERed in slush
bag full of it
so.... I pull over at broadview as I see light go red
grab a basketball sized lump of slush and snow and crap from side of road
dripping off my gloves.. walk over to his car where he sits pretty pleased with himself having a smoke
and he smiles as I walk up to his window.... so... I stuff the crap in through the 6inch crack in the window all over his suit
... odd he's not smiling anymore
light goes green and so he can;t get out (thank god b/c I woulda put the boots to him like I have never done to anyone)
pickup behind him is laughing his ass off, "i saw what he did to you dude" honks to move the ahole along
I'm still cranked with anger

I_bRAD 12-18-07 09:28 AM

haha. I'm with the pickup driver.

TRaffic Jammer 12-18-07 09:36 AM

Not proud/pleased with myself at all. I know I should have enjoyed at least some aspect of it, but I didn't....still don't. Frankly I'm somewhat embarrassed, by just how angry I let this guy make me.

I_bRAD 12-18-07 09:42 AM

Hey no damage done at least.

duppy.conqueror 12-18-07 09:51 AM

Andrew...we are all proud/pleased with you!!!

jeremywhitehorn 12-18-07 10:02 AM

bravo, TJ. what you have there is righteous indignation, not anger per se. totally justified.

shapelike 12-18-07 10:46 AM

I'm gonna call that one Chaotic Good - no alignment change.

Well played, sir.

Flimflam 12-18-07 10:50 AM

Jeesh Pyze, glad you weren't given the smackdown.

Nice TJ, some people need the wakeup call. We're people on the road just as they are, afterall.

I went out to MEC/Best Buy downtown last night and got a wobbly on the lip between streetcar concrete and the curblane surface, down I went - all I could think was getting the flock out of the way for the streetcar coming up behind me :p All was good, probably some bruises I can't yet feel (I think I just slid out of any blunt impact). Almost went down from the lip/surface line again outside MEC, **** the door zone and **** the tracks.

Rode from the east side this morning (took Danforth/Bloor over to Spadina and south - was mostly full speed ahead), all was well though I woke with coldy/flu junk.. bleh. I can definitely see the need for discs in this crap though, assuming they work better than my roadie brakes.

TRaffic Jammer 12-18-07 10:54 AM

Glad you are unharmed for the most part, ooooh I hate that area track crete to road surface, sketchy factor 10.

Thanks for the reminder I need new pads in the worst way.

Flimflam 12-18-07 11:01 AM

Wes, check MEC out too - they have a few pieces of PI footwear type stuff there right now - I was in there looking at them yesterday.

exhibitx 12-18-07 11:31 AM

Hey operator, is Bike Chain open this week? A neighbour gave me a Mixte that works and everything, I just figured you guys might be able to use it. If not, TBN will get it.

somnambulant 12-18-07 11:43 AM

jet sanchEz 12-18-07 11:45 AM

Has anyone done one of the 24 hour mountain bike races? I thought they had them up at Kelso and Hardwood, but neither are advertising 24 hour races. Any ideas?

Edit: Found Albion! I'm very disappointed they don't have a Crippled division. Maybe I'll make my own up...
