What's going on at the Drake tonight? I was worried about the "fuzzy" thing tomorrow too as I'm meeting an old friend tonight, but then it occurred to me that he's flying in from Sweden so he'll be 6 hours ahead of me which likely means early night

So what's the deal with insurance? Do I need it or not? I don't have a racing license.

Keith, you mentioned that we should bring pedals - Erin and I were planning on bringin' our own bikes, is that ill advised for any reason?
I don't think for the first time you need to bring yer own bikes. The cost is the same regardless whether you use a rental or not. As Op mentioned...if you do crash at least its on a rental. I am riding a rental. Enough talk of crashing tho.

I thought it was less if you brought your own bike.

Gladstone or Drake? The ******bag factor is a bit too high at the drake for me.

Also, tonight is the festival of lights in Kensington. Happy Solstice everyone! The days are gettin' longer again

It rocks.

For those who care when Dan, Brayden and I went last Feb I wore shants, long sleeve shirt and a fleece vest and full finger gloves. My only thought to those who want to bring their own bike is that the banks are really steep and if you have longer cranks there might be an issue with hitting the track on the slow pylon laps. One girl who was there hit here pedal a few times trying to carve aorund the pylons.

Have fun you b*stards.

The only other thing to keep in mind Matt....make sure you get ZERO wetness/moisture on the bike when putting it in/taking it out of the car. Moisture+bike+velodrome=BAD!

Apparently all the brokerage fees were on the aerohead package, not the build kit - ~$35 GST + brokerage = $90 buttramming. Makes the sale price a lot poopier, but meh. It happens.

Hugely impressed with the speed that this stuff arrived. I'll be e-mailing Tony shortly.

Re: .au velo crash I had to explain that it looked way worse than it was, those guys are pros, they know how to fall/deal and those bikes have no brakes for safety reasons on the track. That was a tough one to explain

Have fun at the track guys, sounds like a blast

I'm fortunate enough to have Mon-Wed off next week, but back to the grind on the day of the Turd. It's likely going to be a boozefest from what I hear, but being at work is still ftl.

Nice. I've been wanting to watch the whole 'beach scene' from Apocalypse Now for the past couple of weeks. Charlie don't surf!

Also, VelooMedia footage from 'cross provincials:
https://www.veloomedia.com/2007_pages...Men_Flash.html

You can see Mike and I near the start. Mike's at the back of the Senior pack (first wave), I'm in the middle of the Master A pack. I'm also ~halfway through, doing the barrier hop/skip/jump.
