TF sure has come along way since my Q1 days, jeesh, heh - I loved the Requiem patch (grapple hook + regeneration rune ftw) for Q1, but TF was fun too. Took another fall last night, this time on Main St, got some puncture wounds from what I think the ends of my eggbeaters and I have knee bruising that'd put even the best ho's to shame. Ho hum. Thought I'd give the back brake a little touch to slow down around the sketchy area as there was a bus coming north, back got squirrelly fast, front followed and down I went. Poop. |
I was soooo wiped!!! I came home and had "nap" at around 7pm... I just woke up! (8am)
Thanks for organizing everything Keith, that was a hell of a lot of fun! Can't wait to get back out there... |

Also as a followup to my Bianchi questions. Here's a great contrast for my experiences with Urbane in the past year. I ask about the Bianchi Roger (singlespeed cx w/ disc brakes) at Urbane... the best they can do is say that the bike looks cool, but they're not sure how easy it would be to get one in, blah blah blah. Ask other people in the store, they don't know either. Basically it ends with them shrugging their shoulders.
I go to Broadway cycle on Bloor W and ask the same sort of question. The guy knows the bike immediately, says they had one in the store before. Within a couples minutes of interested chitchat about the bike he says "why don't I call Bianchi". He calls 'em up and within 1 minute I get a solid answer. Unfortunately the answer was 'sorry, they don't have a single one left'. My sudden re-interest is due to the fact that I didn't see it in their '08 catalog, so I was checking to see if there were any '07s left. |
Somebody post some pictures already (I forgot my camera yesterday or I would)! It's still a tarck!!

Thanks for the initial hookup Wes.
Goto Bianchi's site, lookup the dealers... There is one contact for all of Canada. He's the one that said he could get me the Italian Spec'd D2 Alum Tarck Byke. He'll know, if it's been discountinued he might be able to find one for you somewhere. |
Before you came in that day I told the sales staff that helping somnambulants is a fireable offense.

oh, also, I was going to suggest that anyone who wants to do Track 2 and/or 3 should get in touch with the fine folks at Forest City. They only arrange T2 when there's enough people interested to fill up a class. So, the earlier you get a list going the earlier you're likely to get back in. I'm hoping to get out there about once a month during the winter, so it would be great if there was a pool of other interested folks.
I think we should try to get out there some Saturday when they're having races, either to watch or to take part. That'd be a blast! |
count me in for 2 and 3!

I need to do t2/3/4 Oh I still need a helmet. |
that looks like fun... i was tempted to try, but i'd hate to hold anyone back while i figured out how to ride fixed... also i'm not keen on falling, and i have a feeling that centrifugal force is harder to obtain than it looks (as demonstrated by the mess' race).

Why does the velodrome require your own pedals? Ease of setup/comfort? I'd love to try the track sometime, too. |

Is there a way to download pictures from Flickr? Every time I try I get a blank white screen with the filename "spaceball". |

Tam...I was kinda concerned about the no fixed experience as well but it really worked out nice and natural. I only had one little lapse in concentration and quickly came back. I'm pretty sure you're used to just pedaling for ages, well it's exactly the same. |
that's reasuring, thanks :)
i guess it can't be that much more difficult than: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrCHTxqUm60 |
