I've been using ufile.ca for years, but I've never used Quicktax, so I can't offer any comparison. I mean, you know, it does the job. I'm not entirely sure what makes one product better than another outside of ease of use, and I've never found Ufile confusing or anything.

You don't have to pay until you want to actually get the file to submit via netfile, so you can always create an account and check it out without any obligation to give them money.

There is a match sprint class...you and me buddy. I am sure they wouldn't have a problem if we asked the session leader.

Yes! I'm all over that. I need to check for sure but I think I may be free saturday after all. Is that when folks are going?

Heh.. You can always tell when I've done a bunch of bike maintenance when you look at that chart. Somehow I always wind up listening to Blackstar (well, hiphop in general, really) while I work.

So what's the deal with stupid/crazy ppl and ebay.. I've been on the lookout for a brooks saddle after a year of uncomfortable-bummed commuting, and find stuff like
this -- obviously damaged at the front rivet (probably from overtension), and going for $70+ship? wtf

yeah that's damaged from over tensioning alright. some local shops have good deals on brooks these days - i'd say it's best to pick one up locally if you're really interested. you won't regret paying a bit more for a new saddle. i believe i saw a b17 at urbane for $90 but i could be wrong. operator?

duppy.conqueror 01-18-08 10:08 AM

was looking in the 'Jackass BFSSFG poster of the day' wth is the point of riding drops if you cut them?

i just dont get that one. anyone? anyone? bueller?

nerdsgirth 01-18-08 10:15 AM

Aesthetics? Also you don't get your leg caught in them when skidding?

I've never had that problem, but I guess my quads aren't as massive as yours are :P

I know drops aren't too popular on FGG, but I love em for comfort/number of positions/ducking out of the wind along the lakeshore.. they can pry my "aesthetically displeasing" uncut drops out of my cold dead hands.

On that note - please make sure I'm really dead.. because my hands have been cold out there lately. Maybe time to invest in a pair of lobster gloves?

Oh, and on Brooks -- the only reason I was looking used is that I wasn't ready to pay too much for new, having never really ridden on one for extended periods of time. Plus the B17 looks a bit wide for my taste.

EDIT: And one more thing.. is there anyone left that hasn't yet done track 1 / intro? I've wanted to do it at some point in the future...

somnambulant 01-18-08 11:10 AM

Anyone around for after work foodbeer? We need to get a regular Friday afternoon/evening thing going again.

It is so wide, I got a good deal on one and ended up taking it off after one ride, i'm selling it on ebay and it's at over what I paid for it already with a few days left. I thought people knew better than to bid before the last few hours. I almost feel bad.

I dreamed I rode the Human Powered Roller Coaster, good times. Where is that thing?

I haven't done it, but would like to, also.

packed away someplace, apparently.

re: Brooks. I have a Brooks Swift, and while it was breaking in I didn't find it that comfortable. But, now that it and/or I have been broken in, it's quite nice for long rides. Certainly still not lightweight, but I have a 135g SLR for that. :P So yeah, don't judge a Brooks by the first couple hundred km on it! It takes time to get broken in.

ps. I used to refer to the Swift as The Violator, but that name seems entirely ridiculous now that I've been riding on an SLR regularly on my 'cross bike for the past 4 months or so. Now I've started using the Brooks on that bike since the seat post diameter is the same as on my roadbike. Easy to swap back and forth.

pps. damn it's cold out there!

I believe that IRO sells B17s for a price of $60 + shipping, so it would be under $75 to your door for sure. I have one on the Ciocc and it is pretty comfy but I am still messing around with the adjustment, trying to get the perfect fit.

exhibitx 01-18-08 02:27 PM

damn right it's cold out, i just rode home from work, straight into the west wind, super bright sun aswell
