Yep, works like a charm, just be sure to stick a piece of rubber between the frame and the clamp so there will be no scratches.

Hello there, rusty chain! :P I'm using a set of those things on my turdbanite fork. I bought rubber-coated ones. It's not as good as having a proper eyeletted fork, obviously, but it works. I find they tend to 'droop' and start rattling every now and then.

Heheheh, yes, that is a bad photo, I took it in the summer and it has been oiled since. I even put some oil on the bolts that centre the wheel in the frame. I have used race-blades in the past and they are fine but nothing beats a full fender setup. The only problem I have had is that sometimes the wheel-well gets clogged with snow but that takes a second to solve....

Mine took about 3 weeks to arrive, which is still longer than they said it would be but it's for the summer so I wasn't in a big rush. I guess it's just the luck of when you get your order in.

Edit: What part was the problem? I'm gonna take a closer look.

With mine, the two prongs at the front of the helmet were peeling back from the foam, and the foam under it was very soft. Nothing like my 3 y/o Atmos which is still good to this day. There were other places too. Seems like any part that came to a point was not looking too hot. Here's hoping the next one is not ****ed up too

sr20det 02-26-08 06:02 PM

just wondering as to where you guys ordered your helmet from.

I_bRAD 02-26-08 06:20 PM

Shop order from OGC. I assume the same for Sir Robin.

Did it on the front and rear. Use some stainless hardware (bolts + nylock), unless you don't like taking it off later.

You betcha! Pro-deal (and good thing too, considering the price of it)

I_bRAD 02-26-08 09:04 PM

I would not have an ionos 'cept for the "pro deal" :)

Wondering if critical mass still takes place despite weather? They are saying 5-10 cm of snow Friday.

MattRennick 02-26-08 09:59 PM

slippery one out there tonight, eh folks? it's been a long time since i've fallen off my bike for no apparent reason (from the outside observer, anyway) but tonight i went to make a quick stop while moving very slowly and whooooop out goes the bike.

some of the older fellas on here are going to balk at this but i'm going to say it anyway - i'm starting to feel old. i've spent my entire life falling off things but the older i get the more it hurts.

somnambulant 02-26-08 10:02 PM

hehehe.. you go see the doctor first thing tomorrow morning to make sure you haven't broken your hip! ;)

In my experience riding pack in the city the main advantage seems to be that Motorists pay a lot attention to 5 cyclists in close proximity, and tend to get the hell out of the way of such unpredictable looking group

all i have to say is that i'm tired and theres wolves after me!. yeah it hurts getting old!

TRaffic Jammer 02-27-08 06:10 AM

It does hurt more to fall to it seems and healing takes longer, but it does seem that I crash alot less than when I was younger. Two way street getting older I tink. Sales Lady sez "they ordered their ad" so she'll be in touch with the Showing of the bikes people.

Safety in numbers seems to be ubiquitous.

Yo man I hear that! I slipped last week and did the old power slide with the bike...man my wrist was killing me the whole day from that. Gotta strengthen those bones! Got Milk?

somnambulant 02-27-08 08:39 AM

Now you guys know how I felt all those times I went over the bars mountain biking last year. :P

Tuck 'n' roll!

Flimflam 02-27-08 09:12 AM

Tuck 'n' roll for sure, my wrist felt pretty sore for an hour or so after dumping my roadbike last week.

When I was a kid I used to do crazy dumb stuff, pull huge skids, crash a lot, etc. but now - even skidding is a technique I've seemingly forgotten to do well - just a different mindset when riding now I guess. I know how much it /can/ hurt to fall, and it's an ever present fear of hitting the ground that makes me overly cautious at times, tracks amplify that even more likely due to me breaking my wrist a couple years ago on them. Breaking my wrist was a massive inconvenience I'd really rather never experience again.

I also ride WAY further and WAY faster than I ever did when I was a kid, and in amongst a lot more traffic than I ever cared to play in when younger. At 27 I do feel my age a lot more, even in the last 4 years I've noticed a change... AIEEEEE!

As for CM, it'll be on rain, shine, sleet or snow. I'll probably make it.

PS, ******* cold out there this morning - a 15 degree temp. change to the negative overnight is just not cool. My street was dangerously slippy, to the point where I only had to think about backpedalling and I'd be skidding along quite merrily - an interesting wake up call first thing.

"Sphincter resting pressures"... I don't know how you could "rest" with some sort of device monitoring the ol' starfish. hehehe.
