Awesome! I thought when they started with the guy on the trainer I was like "pffft, c'mon!"

I like your wrist-cord things, great idea for the big can't-grip-much winter gloves.

Speaking of ripping, Andrew I saw you whip by Southbound on Yonge yesterday at around 6:30p or so. Mike and I were in my car waiting at the Queen St light after dropping off some stuff at Cycle Therapy.

Least you didn't see me coming out of McDonald's a couple minutes later... dinner time craving.
I got those snowboard gloves last year and I love em. Those cords really do come in handy when you need to toss your glove off to get at something for a second.

It's the beginnings of the photographers at The Star doing the whole story, they're given nice hand held HD cams and digital voice recorders. The guy who put this together knows a buddy of mine at work that also rides. You may see him tooling around on his Aquila Equipe Tarck biek, he's the photo assignment editor.

Wrist cords, isn't that standard on ski gloves? So if you crash on the mountain you aren't ****ed because you didn't lose your gloves?

you really haul ass on that mountain bike, eh? Did the reporters get you three cyclists together for an open discussion or are the interviews occurring independently? Either way, do they have an ETA on publishing the article?

It was his first assignment for his class on how to put it all together, and it worked out so well they did publish it. That's the whole thing what you saw. It is in the video section of The Star's site's front page at the bottom. I find good snowboard gloves will have drawstrings as opposed to ski gloves. Doing a big layback and touching the mountain at speed can result in your glove flying right off your hand sometimes. AS well you can dig into your pockets on the chairlift for lighters and what have you without fear of dropping them. Those gloves have the draw string to attach them to you as well as the cuff string to close the glove so no snow gets in as well as a strap at the wrist for extra closure.

I imagine we'll be seeing more stuff like this in the future as the paper tries to evolve in todays market.
I got the nod because I know the photo assignment editor from us locking up downstairs at work. The reporter needed someone who rode in because they wanted to to fill out the piece with differing riders. The messenger segment was him simply heading over to Chez Standby and asking if he could speak to someone.

what's that messenger riding? all i could see was a cyclocross fork with a disk brake...

i'm usually patient about waiting for spring but now i have to say i'm feeling positively squirelly about getting my nice bike out on the road all shiny and salt free. and feeling the warm breeze on my legs. is this what they call cabin fever?
