Don't be so hardcore. It has just as much relevance to weekend warriors/cat 16 racers as it does people who have to share the road w/ idiot motorists and other cyclists.

Where does CM start? It passed me when I was on College, near Ossington--definitely surprised to see the large cop escort.
also, what are people's opinions of a silver stem with black bars/tape? I can't find any black quill stems, so I probably don't have any other choice (still have to check out that used parts place in Kensington)

re: tape it looks friggin' marvelous. Discriminating riders like me use it. I find Parts Unknown is pretty slim on road bits.

does anybody think 48x16 is too high a gear ratio to use on your first FG? I've been using it for a week, and getting used to FG riding, but have had some serious pain in my right knee (and hip flexors oddly enough...) that makes me wonder if I should change to 48x18 or maybe 17.
any suggestions?

Following a recent "stuff" cull, I have three Tupperware Rough-tote containers with snap lids for to give away. Three sizes ~ 38, 53 and 68 l capacities.

I run the same, its a 3:1 ratio which can be kinda steep at times but i haven't had any issues with it yet.
Going smaller will make your spin better. I'm going to change to a smaller gear when i get home.

Took a break from writing my search engine to ride around town: down to sweet pete's for some lube, then to Urbane for new gloves, and finally over to CT to see if they had my new front wheel yet; CT was closed, though. I then headed down to T&T, got some groceries and headed back home. What a kick ass day for riding - its just beautiful out there.

why would someone want a 3x over a 2x laced wheel?
Is the difference just stiffness and strength? (i would guess 2x would be slightly lighter, but not noticeably)

But yeah, your seat might have to come up. Knee injuries are horrendous to deal with, so please, get it sorted asap, so you don't regret it later. Quick rule of thumb for seat-height: when seated on your saddle your heel should just graze your pedal at it's lowest (ie. 6:00) point. That should get it in roughly the right area... obviously it's just a rule of thumb and not an exact science.
...baaahahahahahaha
