Love that Pooj there TJ, I wonder what it's like to ride with a loaded sidecar - I assume it's person-sized, what's the supporting wheel? A 20" on a frame-attached axle?

Says the automotive design engineer. ^^
^^ ...Geeks is the preferred term, tyvm.
Damn it's the HD for my MacBookPro, so there will be no moving it over to a PC.
Sh*t and Bother, Apple Care to the rescue.... on my second drive, speaker on the right is blown. The case is warped somewhat as well but nothing I do for that. Heck even Windows will identify bad sectors. MACs have been typically lackluster in the drive maintenance arena.
Good God DOS? That simply won't do in this day and age. We like bikes BTW!!!

FWIW, the new MB and MBP with the CNC Alu body is much more rigid than the old MBP design. Case warping is why I returned several MBPs shortly after purchase.
oh yeah, Bikes.
If it's intel, just install bootcamp and install Windows then boot right into it. Otherwise, it's a bit harder.

Plastic bags served me hella good today as impromptu winter footwear, but it's totally time for something better.
Drivers have been surprisingly polite the past two days though, which is wild considering all my previous observations are that road hostility magnifies exponentially whenever the weather goes sucky. Three cheers for good providence

^^ I find the driver's get more patient and resigned in an upperward arc proportional to the weather^^ hip hip hooray (that's one)
ah those Gaerne boots are serving me well
it's intel, I've got Parallels running but it's virtual.

on a side note i am truly glad i decided to buy a pair of goretex lined winter boots for winter riding. i've never had dry feet while on a bike in this type of weather. to answer jet's question, yes it is dorky to ride in waterproof boots but it's so comfortable it worth it. plus if you have enough confidence, the dork factor can be perceived as ironic and thus cool. if you don't believe me look it up in vice magazine...

Holy hell. It seems unconscionable that a street like Danforth would have been left unsalted knowing it would drop below zero after a night of rain, but there it is. Now I've got me a potentially bent brake lever and a sore neck to show for my optimism. Arg

Was it black ice you hit.. or? Sucks to hear regardless. Hope your neck is OK.
I guess I'll leave extra early and just putter along.

Holy S H I T ! every side street out there is a sheet of ice.
Not black ice but the rain left over from last night froze in the snap cold that hit in the early morning hours. No front brakes on the side streets gang!!!

sounds like a good day to be on studs!
re: gore tex and all that fancy mumbo jumbo on boots and socks. IMO, leather + sealant is better. Get some good mudflaps and you're even better.
Shackleton never had gore-tex, and he was a bad mother****er.

a little off-topic... can anyone recommend any good, preferably road-oriented, LBSs around Yonge+Lawrence? I'm never lived east of High Park, and now I'm moving all the way to Yonge in a less than a week... I'll be so lost!

Yup. Knowing it would be slippery I chickened out. I did bike 4k to my shuttle bus and the main roads were ok...
