Classic "CX bike on XC trails" moment today in the Don today.
"Are you looking for the road?" "Umm, no. I'm good." ... and then I dropped him. That felt really good. ;) PS. Trail conditions on the Ridge Trail are "good" ... "great" even for this time of year. There are a few sloppy spots but most of them have alternate lines. Some of the structures around the River Trail are washed out but people have been in there in the last 48hrs to rebuild things. Definitely get in for a ride before the next rain hits! |
Who sells Fuji Track Pros in the city again? The Kensington guys, right?
Where the heck can I find a wide selection of Krylon spray paint? Canadian Tire has all the usual colours but Krylon has a million colours and I want something interesting. How is everyone anyways? Thread is kinda quiet.... |
tons of fuji tracks at bikes on wheels, don't know if we have the pros though, i can check but i won't be in till thursday
|
K, cool, thanks. A friend of mine found a used one for $800 but cannot seem to find them for sale new in Toronto.

April commuter regrets: Wussing out because it's -3C in the AM + you don't want to be bothered with layers, and realizing in the afternoon that you'll be stuck riding the streetcar on an awesome day.
High point of the Easter parade -- seeing kids scream as one of the CORE guys laid down in the middle of Queen St + his buddies did 180s over him :) |
i think the 09 track pro has a integrated seatpost, so some shops probably don't want to carry it, there's another model between the track and track pro now, i forget what it's called, but i think the downtown shops are more likely to carry that

The Fuji Track Pro is a 2008 which I don't think had the integrated seatpost. |

Well hell, I just got off the phone with my friend and the bike sold already. C'est la vie but thanks for the input guys.

Had a much less bike-y weekend than I thought, missed the donut on all occasions. Hit the bluffs on Saturday and went by the lakeshore/Leslie spit/Don valley a few times throughout the weekend (passed by the jumps on my road bike looking awfully out of place yesterday ;)).
edit: keys found, I'm an idiot and I think I'll leave it at that :) |

"Are you looking for the road?" "Umm, no. I'm good." I was in the Don Sunday as well...riding a 8" travel DH rig. |
New-to-me bike. It kicks ass but has gears and needs new pedals.

Thanks! The Battaglin logo is a little guy riding a bike and it is embossed all over the frame...kinda weird but I like it :) http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...chEz/batt3.jpg |
+1 looks funky
where'd you get it? |
I just ordered some parts for my Nagasawa, so I have available the following (free);
Soma Major Taylor bars - 38cm c-c (f***ing uncomfortable on the street) Nitto NJS stem (the one with the serious drop and 25.4mm clamp) 100mm Hopefully the new stuff will arrive before CM next week. This will be the first one i won't be working for since last summer, so I will be able to attend. |
nice bike, jet!

I always find these statements bizarre as well. Other than select man-made stunts, what part of the Don do they think is inappropriate for a CX bike?

Jet, that is one nice looking bike. I bet those 105 hubs run butter smooth, too. <BarryWhite>Mmmmm.....</BarryWhite>
Oh yeah, new $31 Veloce cranks arrived today, and they're well... new? Lookin' very fine on my red/pink Miele. Hopefully K can get that front wheel sorted out without needing a full re-build. Funny how this bike is so old (almost as old as myself) that its parts literally fail and I replace them one by one; you'd think that for an $80 bike, I'd just junk it at the first sign of trouble. Trouble is, this bike fits like a glove. If the frame ever gives, I'll probably either get it repaired or just take it to a builder and ask them to copy it, tube for tube. Question is which part will fail next? My money is on the Tange Sekkei headset or the Maillard freewheel. If the latter, then I get to find out what kind of threading is on the rear hub (Campy Athena, c1987/88). Will it be English, Italian, French... Swiss??? Down for the Don ride tomorrow - see you guys/gals @6PM? |
